The University of Colorado regents today will vote on contracts for head football coach Jon Embree and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy - both with base annual salary offers of $250,000 and the potential to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars in compensation and bonuses.

Looks like Embree will make $741,000/yr plus other bonuses. Bieniemy will get $486,000/yr plus bonuses... if I calculated that correctly

Thanks for running the numbers slider, although they wont do much nationally to change the perception we cheaped out on Embree.

Perception is reality in this case. Although, some of the money that would have gone to him is going to the assistants. Bieniemy is making about 270K more than Kiesau did last season for the same position.

I think it has less to do with us "shorting" him and more to do with Embree sacrificing some of his salary for his assistants.

Nice! These guys go out and produce, then they can get paid. In the mean-time, use the cash for some improvements.

I think grouping our HC in with these guys says a lot about our university's (non)commitment to football.

Who cares... the less we pay him the better. $$$ is the last thing motivating Embree to succeed here

I do not necessarily disagree with you, although I would say the commitment to Bieniemy as the OC is a big step forward.

:bang::bang:

he will get more when he starts winning

Win and the money will come.

We made a huge mistake giving Dan Hawkins a big contract (and a big buyout) and an even bigger mistake extending him.

Embree doesn't even have coordinator experience, let alone head coaching experience. He is getting paid exactly what he has earned, IMO.

Most of the contract is other compensation. I don't know why they don't just say he is making 700k a year but he really is. The standard Nike, gym membership, car, summer camps etc. Bieniemy also gets 150k signing bonus.
