GAME #29: 5/5 Texas Longhorns (24-4, 12-1 Big 12)

Saturday, Feb. 25, 2:01 p.m. (MST) Coors Events Center (11,043)

Television: Big 12 Network (Altitude 2 Sports & Entertainment); ESPN Full Court Dave Armstrong (p-b-p), Jon Sundvold (analyst) KKZN 760-AM: Mark Johnson (p-b-p), Chris Lewis (analyst) Satellite Radio: Sirius 215/XM 231 (Texas Broadcast)

Series vs. Longhorns: Texas leads 14-8, has won six straight. CU leads 5-4 in Boulder; Texas leads in Big 12 play: 13-5

QUICKLY: Colorado has matched their Big 12 Conference win total from a year ago (six) and their 17 wins are the most since winning 20 in 2005-06 • CU has won two of its last three games • The Buffs are 4-4 in single-digit Big 12 games • Cory Higgins will play his 123rd career game today tying the school record for most games played at CU. He ties Stephane Pelle (1999- 2003) and Will Smith (1996-2000).

CU AT HOME: CU is 13-2 at home • With two more wins against Texas and Nebraska, the Buffs would set a school best with 15 wins at home in a sea- son • All-time best is 14 victories accomplished twice (2002-03 & 2005-06 ) • Saturday’s game against No. 5/5 Texas is sold out. It’s the fourth sell out at the Events Center this season setting a school record for a season.

****************

Texas isn't very big. In fact, we've got a decent height advantage with our starting 5. But they're ridiculously athletic and fast with some quick leapers, leading the Big 12 in rebounding and FG% defense.

I think the prescription for today is:

- Play great defense
- Hold our own on the boards
- Value every offensive possession

It's a sellout at the Keg. We're really good there and the crowd will be insane. This is a winnable game.

Anyone know a bar in Chicago this game will be on? I don't know if our football bar, the Fireside Inn, will have it.
