Mike Bohn didn't want us in the NCAA tournament. Tournament payouts have to be shared with the conference, gate receipts don't. Since we're not participating in conference revenue sharing, Bohn saw a chance to get 3-4 more sellouts at the CEC with an NIT bid and worked some magic with the selection committee to keep us out.

I hope to god we can get a sellout....same crap happened in '03/'04....screwed on Selection Sunday and our first round NIT game was at home vs. Old Dominion I believe.....

I remember being about 1 of 15 students in attendance along with 500 other people max.....we lost by 25 points that day

It was 05-06 and we lost by 18. I walked in after halftime without a ticket. More than 500 were in there though

Just looked it up, CUBuffs.com says the attendance was 2890.

I feel with this team we can get quite a few fans, I plan on going to at least one NIT game.

OOC shedule.......
cu=325.

play somebody.

Can't beat 6 top 50 teams without playing them, dumbass....

I seem to remember us kicking your arrogant red asses too.

Go **** yourself all the way to the Big Te, er Eleve, er uh we can't actually count that ****ing high. You'll all fit right in.

GTFO with that weak shiznit. We finished 5th in the Big 12 and made it to the conference semi finals. We beat KSU three times, twice in Kansas. We beat Missouri, ranked #9 at the time. We beat Texas, who was ranked #3 at the time. We played a plenty tough schedule thank you very much. One helluva lot tougher than Virginia Commonwealth, UAB, etc.

Even Mel Gibson wouldn't subscribe to that one....and if there is more than 4000 people at the CEC for the NIT, Id be shocked

:lol2: A fusker fan lecturing on OOC strength of schedule.

"We went to bowls for XX number of years." Not hard to get six wins a year in football when four of them are East Central Barber College, The University of Northern Alaska, St. Desperation, and The Central Kansas College for Amputees and Neuromuscular Diseases.

Oh by the way, which bracket are the mighty Cornhuskers in? We have an argument about being left out, KU doesn't.

Then it's time to rally!

Bohn wanted us in the NCAAs. No doubt.

Hopefully we'll rally and be a great NIT site now, though. I know I'll be there.

The early losses to a few teams away like Georgia and Harvard, and the schedule were good reasons. I am as upset as anyone, but to me the loss that really killed us was away at Iowa State. I can ever remember commentary at the time that the game would be a dagger in the heart of the tournament chances.

I'll fully admit I'm grasping at straws with this one. I am convinced that there's more to this story than "ooooh, they were really close, but we just thought Virginia Commonwealth was a better choice". Think about it.

Speaking of VCU, it looks like Toby Veal is in the NCAA tourney.

Bohn is a lightweight who is in over his head. We need a REAL AD. I detest Mike Bohn.

you are right on

Yea, looking at their schedule makes VCU look questionable. Also the guys on ESPN were very direct on USC not being worthy.

Although the list of committee members wouldn't necessarily suggest it, the decisions are politically driven one way or another.

Lynn Hickey University of Texas at San Antonio Athletic Director

Someone made a point on ESPNU's "The Experts" that it would make sense to have at least a couple basketball minds on there. He suggested Bobby Knight, John Thompson and John Chaney. Works for me.

Some of the ESPN guys like Vitale and Bilas have been pushing for this for a number of years now. And I completely agree.

Dan Beebe is on the committee? That pretty much seals it as far as I'm concerned. This was a screw job from the get-go.

Right, Beebe would screw a team that would still bring revenue to his own conference.

no, but he sure wouldn't fight for a team from a school that just said his conference sucked and was leaving. Cu and NU made beebe look like a total idot, as did Larry Scott. No way he fought for us. This is just one last snide dagger in the back.
