"We're still with you" Chant @ CEC wednesday

So I have a friend who is on the team who had to sit out for a year after transfering over from the DU Pioneers. He has told me that the team is still pretty down about having to play in the NIT rather then the Big Dance. When we were discussing this he mentioned to my other friend and me that after talking amongst the team that they are hoping that the fans are still behind them for motivation to win the NIT. So after we were finished, my friend wanted to get a massive chant throughout the whole even center wednesday night to let them know EVEN THOUGH WE GOT SCREWED THAT THE CU FANS ARE STILL WITH THEM. So we were thinking something like "WERE STILL WITH YOU". Any other ideas? My friend did comment too saying they don't want to focus on getting snubbed anymore so I'm worried some idiot will start a chant like "we got screwed" which might kill there moral.

ya "we got screwed" would be a bad one... I honestly think having the arena packed as soon as the doors open and having the fans pay attention during shoot around along with a "lets go buffaloes" right at tip off is the best way. I dont think "we're still with you" would catch on with the students.

So, how does Sabatino feel about the Buffs going forward? Is he going to be in the mix next year?

I just emailed Coach Boyle. I let him know that we are all still behind them and asked what we could do to help the team feel the support. In the fall after the Kansas game Coach Cabral came to the marching band and asked us to do "One Heartbeat" in the 3rd quarter to show that the team had our support and to remind them we are all in this together. It fired them up more than anything we did that whole game. I know the bball team doesn't do that but I asked Coach Boyle if there was something similar that we could do to help the team on wednesday.

Shoulder to Shoulder clap clap clap-clap-clap ???

I think he is! He likes the program and last he knows after I talked with um he should be battling for playing time next year. He really likes Boyle too. He was actually about to transfer to Northern Colorado to finish his college career with Boyle untill he decided to coach the buffs. Then he came with um.

I hope it is loud as hell in there. That will wake the team up. If it is anything like the Old Dominion game (atmosphere wise) we are in trouble.

if the team knew one heartbeat it would be awesome in there... all the students using the chairs... that would be an impressive moment

How about : **** DAN BEEBE!!!! clap-clap clap-clap-clap...... **** DAN BEEBE!!!!

I think we have our new tradition. Band member, get on it.

The hard part is getting the football team or a football coach over there to teach it to them. There aren't any videos or anything of it since it all occurs inside the Dal Ward center. I agree it would be a great new tradition though. The band knows it and we could do it but we would just sound like we were beating on chairs/the bass drum

As much as fun as we could have with the anti Beebe/NCAA chants... We need to leave them at the door. Inside support the team even if they got left out

It's not as easy as it is for football. Cabral literally loves the band and actually requested to come meet with us (usually the other way around). It's pretty hard to get everyone to learn a chant, especially with only a few days.

With great power comes great responsibility. Do it for the seniors.

No chant is needed to show support. To do this you just need some buff gear, noise and enthusiasm (all of which should be standard at any game). Standing up at times other then when chip comes around with gift certificates would also be nice.

However, the vaunted "two more years" chant should be out in full force...thats right, 2 years.

I offer no chant ideas. But the road to New York City begins by stomping Southern Texas for 40 consecutive minutes.

Go Buffs!

I'd pick one everyone already knows. Like "BULL SH!T...BULL SH!T...BULL SH!T" or something.

How about singing "New York, New York"? Does the band know that one?

Start spreading the news, NIT tourney today
I want to be a part of it - new york, new york
These basketball shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it - new york,
new york

I wanna wake up in a city, that doesn’t sleep
And find I’m king of the hill - top of the heap

These march madness blues, are melting away
I’ll make a brand new start of it - in old new
york

If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere
It’s up to you - new york, new york
