The bulk of the offers are in California, Texas, and Colorado, as expected. Several of the national offers are out to elite QBs and RBs.

I expect to see some more offers pop up in California and Texas, but also Arizona and Utah. Both states are good recruiting fits and put out plenty of solid players. Plus there is the Poly population in Utah.

Overall, I really like the new staff's strategy. Not surprisingly, they are really hitting the areas in and around Los Angeles hard. The renewed focus on Texas is already paying off with the Catalon commitment and serious interest from Connor Crane. We are offering many prospects early (sometimes first) and it is not taking long for most of these prospects to get other offers. We offered Crane first and he now has 5-6 offers; we offered Ramacher first and he now has five offers.

Obviously, national signing day will be the ultimate judge.

We're actually a bit more national than I expected, based on Embo's comments to the media. I think when we see the class we sign it's going to end up being around 75% from 3 states, which is right where it should be imo.

Some of the national offers are a bit surprising, although several of them are quarterbacks and running backs. Can't wait to see more offers go out in the DFW and Houston areas, I like the quality of athletes we are pursuing in both areas thus far.

Five right now with another couple that could be defensive tackles down the road. I think we take three this class, with one of them likely being a JUCO transfer who can enroll early (there are some of these guys getting early looks).

We should have a better idea of where we stand at many positions after Junior Day.

When I did the analysis on this, it looked like Texas prospects treated the Big 12 North as "off brand". Worse, it was an "off brand" they didn't respect. Pac-12 may not be able to promise one trip a year to Texas, but the move should still be neutral-to-positive for us on the recruiting trail.

Updated the numbers. We definitely are using a more confined recruiting strategy than in the past. Overall, 84 out of 134 offers are in the Pac-12 footprint.

Last two years we've finished without 270 kids in the profile index. Considering we didn't keep it as tight, probably 80% of them had CU offers.

Things are really high this year, though. Only May and we've got a database of over 170 prospects (not including the CO Prep Index kids who aren't in the main Index). At least 90% of the guys in the main Index have CU offers.

Our numbers haven't been all that unusual. Probably in the middle of the bell curve. It's going to vary by coach when we look at other programs. Some have a philosophy of being very targeted (Texas, Ohio State) and don't offer a lot of guys. Others (like Vanderbilt this year) are seemingly offering everyone with qualifying grades and a likely high 2* or better grade.

Available scholarships for the class will impact this a lot, too.

I'm working on a recruiting blog for this weekend to get people up to speed, especially all the people who don't have the time or inclination to watch it closely on a daily basis. I'll include this info with some additional detail.
