Embree reports one secondary violation

OMG! I'm so ashamed that our coaches fed a 10-year old who tagged along on his brother's recruiting trip instead of making him go hungry. Simply awful.

$103.26 to feed a 10 year old for a weekend!
That's alot of Mac & Cheese.
It must include a bar tab.

I was cool with this violation until I got to the line
The recruit did not end up choosing to come to Colorado.

I wonder if he took his brother to any other recruiting trips...

Clearly, CU has lost institutional control and should be barred from bowls for five years, lose five scholly's per year and a three year TV ban. Anything less and the integrity of the student-athlete is in jeopardy. There are simply no extenuating circumstances that would allow for the feeding of a hungry ten year old.

Now extenuating circumstances could be found if CU had given a sum to the child's parents, say around $250,000, to feed the ten year old, as long as the ten year old did not know about it. Or maybe if the ten year old had sold the gear he obtained from the AD for some tattoos and had a member of the CU coaching staff lie about it, THEN you would have some circumstances that might make it acceptable. Or it could have just happened at the AU or tOSU campus....

If that 10 year old becomes a good football player...i hope he feels obligated to commit to the Buffs, seeing that we could have easily let him starve :smile2:

I think you're all missing the most disturbing part of the article.. when it talks about Hawkins' regular violations, including accepting tickets to a game with players? Are you kidding me?

So instead of a cash handshake, they fed a 10 year old. Clearly a major violation the NCAA will jump all over. If this happened at an SEC school, Ohio State or some other insider program, the NCAA would be praising them for helping out the less advantaged.

they would actually give them a punishment, but forget to inform the school until one day after the punishment can be enforced. opsie
