Future non-conference football schedules for Colorado and Nebraska

With the release of the Big Ten 2013 and 2014 football schedules. It looks like Nebraska has open dates which coincide with those of Colorado.

Would Buff fans like to schedule Nebraska after several years playing in the Pac 12 and not playing Nebraska?

The dates apparently available for each team would be, Sept 21, 2013, Sept 6, 2014 and Sept 27, 2014.

Thoughts?

Mods: Fix my thread title if you can.

happy birthday to me!

I would be down for that plus a game/s in the rose bowl if you guys can make it :wink2:

Open dates??? Is Southwestern Rhode Island Tech not available... Seriously, wouldn't quite be the same playing you guys in September.

Wouldn't be the same. That's for sure. But it might be interesting seeing the progress each program has made being the newbies in their new conferences.

Dr Tom will not come anywhere near us....and we don't want him. The guy is a decrepid fool.

Let's get rid of CSU and take on NU every year! Only people that really give two sh*ts about that game existing are in Fort Collins. Only time the rest of the state pays them any attention.

I'd love to play nebraska. But there is no way they agree to a home and home.

I'd be down for playing three games. One at Folsom, one in Lincoln, and one at Invesco. We've been looking to lighten our out-of-conference schedule, what with the Ohio States, West Virginias, Georgias, etc. of the world. This would be a good step in that direction; a little bit of a warm-up for the Pac-12 season.

I have no desire to schedule games against any Big 10 opponent since the Rose Bowl features a PAC 12 and Big 10 match. I prefer an SEC or ACC opponent if we are scheduling BCS non-con games. My ideal non-con schedule would be CSU, a WAC, SEC, and a cupcake before conference play.

I don't know. I think we are trying to upgrade our schedule. But we may throw you guys a bone. Although I didn't think you guys were that willing to go on the road for OOC games.

I'd be good with it but I would rather see several more years go by. By waiting both teams can get fully acclimated to their new conferences and I think waiting would also refresh the rivalry and make it more like old enemies meet again. JMO

Not only no, but hell no. I see no reason to give the red polyester clad retards in this state any reason to come out of the woodwork.

It may take a little longer, but I think it should and will happen. I would look forward to it as I have since for the past 30+ years.

Playing NU a few more times would be good. I'm sure our new HC would love the chance to beat the bugeaters as HC!

If we do it its a home and home though...I think NU would have visions in their head of playing the game in Mile High and then filling the place with the invading hordes from the plains. Yeah our joint is smaller but you guys have done fine getting plenty of red in there, though you did have the benefit recently of it being Thanksgiving weekend when tons of CU folks were out of town.

I can't get to excited about this idea, especially if they schedule a game at mile high. Rose Bowl sounds better.

I can't see NU scheduling a game at Mile High. It will be a home and home or a single game in Lincoln. Waiting a few years may be the way it goes.

With 9 conference games and the stupid CSU contract, that leaves only 2 OOC slots available.

Out of the 116 remaining division 1 programs in the nation from which to choose, there's no way Nebraska deserves a spot on CU's schedule in 2013. CU would be wise to pick some location that actually helps with recruiting. I'd rather schedule Houston or North Texas or Rice or SMU or UT San Antonio or TCU than play some meaningless "nostalgia" game that panders to the Front Range Nebraska fans.

If CU puts NU on the schedule, it should be after a long while. Maybe prioritize it after that LSU home and home game that the CUAD bumped, but promised to reconsider by 2020.

I loved the rivalry and banter amongst fans. Would be great if it could continue, but I'm afraid being in different conferences would have a negative impact on the value of the game. Not as much at stake. As someone else posted, I'm not sure Nebraska would want to play a home/home series, and I wouldn't be ok with that.
