Love this recruiting stuff popping up again.

Guy is deceptively strong for his size, loves to hit people, 1 cut runner for sure. Not so sure on elusiveness though. He basically goes 1 way, downhill. I like that!

He had a huge junior season playing in the Inland Empire. He was first team all-CIF and first team all-league.

He may be the big back we have been looking for over the last few years.

please... this guy runs like our old blocking schemes... one cut and straight down hill... YES PLEASE... aj get working on the tat for me haha

He seems open right now, but Boise State might actually be the team to beat, based on his comments in the last Scout update. Hope EB can convince him to visit Boulder.

Given an initial 3* rating by scout and ranked the #29 RB. New highlights:

Prediction: Payne.

He'll be fun to chant for after a TD, or a big run.

PAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyNNNNNNNNNnnnnnnnnnnnnEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeee!

I agree with Slider. I like our chances here, provided he visits in the next month.

Anything popping up on this kid? We really need a couple RBs in this class. I'm concerned about the depth and talent at this position. When you run a pro-style offense, you need to have at least three running backs that can carry the ball 10-15 times a game.

CU and Boise last I heard were still on top but he also has offers from Nevada, UW, WSU, UCLA, and ASU.

I like what Payne brings to the table. He is solid enough to run through some tackles and push some guys backwards when he makes contact. Also big enough to match up against blitzing LBs in pass protection. Hope he commits to us soon.

As long as we get him to visit soon, I think we can land him. He likes Boise the most right now, but I'm pretty sure he has not visited any other schools. The darkhorse is U-Dub because they signed a RB from his high school a couple years ago and seems to have a favorable impression of them.

This is a kid to keep an eye on post-commitment though, wherever that might be.

Yeah he sounds like the type that might want to take some OVs just for the tourism aspect of it. I love our chances here, not sure we can have a better recruiter on him than EB.

Should be visiting this month on an unofficial.

Looks like it's between CU and Boise State still. He's right at the top of the CU board, so let's hope we're able to get a commitment.

Whoever interviews people for 247 most definitely does not like CU  Sounds like it's more of a top 3 now with Boise leading. I really like this kid, seems like a happy kid regardless of his unfortunate circumstances, so I hope he picks the school that is best for him.

247 only has dedicated info for the following programs:

Alabama
Arizona
Auburn
Cincinnati
Clemson
Florida
Florida State
Georgia
Georgia Tech
Indiana
Iowa
Kentucky
Maryland
Miami
Michigan State
Nebraska
North Carolina
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Oregon
Penn State
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas
Texas A&M
USC
Virginia
West Virginia
Wisconsin

As you can imagine, their west coast recruiting isn't very inclusive. It's all about USC and Oregon in football, Arizona in basketball. They are very focused on the big programs, with some additional stuff from people they are close to from back in the day when they founded Rivals.
