The Pac-10 presently has 215 NFL players. The top producers of NFL talent, at present, are:

USC ... 39
California ... 33
Oregon ... 25
Oregon State ... 22
Arizona State ... 21
UCLA ... 19

So how do the new members, Colorado and Utah rate?

Utah ... 21
Colorado ... 16

Remember when we were #1 in the nation? I f@*%ing hate Hawkins! (No, it can never be said too much!)

That list just says the top producers of NFL talent. We are probably ahead of Stanford, Washington St, Arizona, and Washington.

That is only 8 of 12. Pretty sure we have more than WSU....

Oops! That's what happens when you post while sleep deprived! :wow:

Maybe we're not last, but we're a long way from where we want to be.

According to ESPN

Standford: 16
Washington State: 14
Arizona: 16
Washington: 14

Not sure how to interpret these stats. Stanford was solid last year and Oregon hasn't put tons of guys in while Cal has, but has really nothing to show for it. The second tier guys are where we are behind. We do need more talent across the board. Well that and a good coach and a solid scheme. Hopefully Embo can put more guys in the league, but if we can only muster a solid group of guys, but nothing spectacular, I hope we have a coach that can make everyone play to their potential.

the solution is simple. need a coaching staff that coach players up to and beyond thier potential. that makes NFL talent. period.

Have to disagee with this well. The NFL bases a lot of who gets drafted and where based on measureables. Play is nearly second. Guys that play out of their minds, but aren't fast or strong have to prove themselves more so than someone 2-3" taller or .3s faster or 30lbs heavier. A problem with the last coaching staff was that they sought out to disprove the athletic angle. When I saw our DL get pushed around by the bug eaters last year I knew we had a way to go. Coaches need players and the new staff is showing that they can recruit.

Gotta get back to getting studs like Alfred Williams, Deion Figures, Kordell Stewart that are good players and have the intangiables.
