Scout's Brandon Huffman just tweeted:

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle linebacker Michael Barton was offered by Colorado today...

******************

This was an offer I'd been waiting to see. We need some stud LBs in this class and De La Salle is on the short list of high schools CU needs to recruit.

Think we got a decent shot here if we can get him to visit sometime this summer.

Pretty certain he will stay in the Pac-12 and seems pretty open to several schools right now as he has made the rounds for several junior days in the conference. Cal is likely going to be in the mix though, looks like Tosh Lupoi (a De La Salle alum) is helping with Barton's recruitment.

That Tosh Lupoi guy is a machine. If we ever need a DC/recruiting ace, I hope we give him a call and a hefty raise.

Sorry BCS, I was just making a general observation about Lupoi being a recruiting machine. I have no idea where Barton stands in regards to Cal.

^^^^^^^ could to be alluding to something^^^^^^^^^^^
did he commit to cal or something?
the question
Do you ever bother reading threads or do you just like to ask really dumb questions? Nowhere in the thread did anyone say anything about Barton committing to Cal. Nowhere.
so please tell me how its not a logical leap to ask the above question when TOSH LUPOI... who is a coach at Cal and a top recruiter in a thread about a defensive player who has an offer from CAL is out of line?

Well you could always click on the Rivals/Scout/ESPN/247 Sports links and see that he didn't commit to Cal.

Easy Tiger. Maybe he was referencing another website and came here for the dialogue? Isn't that the purpose of a sport/program devoted forum?

The kid's read and recognition ability is off the charts. Half the time it looks like he's blitzing because his speed/read ability is so quick. He also has a RARE 2nd gear that you don't see many DB's with, let alone LB's. Very impressive player. The kid has the looks of a three/four year starter at the WILL LB spot.

Probably the 1st or 2nd best film i've seen this year along with the Denton FB, Ramacher. Just great all-around football players who are going to be starters for multiple years and have major impacts on their side of the ball.

I like seeing how they would run two guys at him on kickoffs, and he would either blow them up and go make the tackle, or just out run them. I question his ability to shed tackles inside, but other than that he reminds me of a missile.

Agreed. Seems more likely to make it on the outside instead of ILB.

Oregon, Stanford and Cal all recruiting at a very high clip. They aren't doing too bad in Seattle either. North Division will continue to be tough.
