At 6'2" I was surprised to see that he was always the low man with every tackle and block shed. Good stuff

he is huge for a safety. But with 4.5 speed in high school I see probably closer to 4.4 in college with some training. And if he keeps that weight... I would hate to be a wide receiver...

I still don't get why people believe Recruiting 40 times. They are all hogwash. Every kid not a lineman is at worst a 4.6. Right.

I agree. In the picture above, he looks like he'll take your head off if you even consider going over the middle.

We are recruiting him as an OLB, not as a safety.

Scout has an excellent new interview with Jacobs up: The next great LB in Boulder?

They've also put an initial 3* rating on Jacobs and ranked him as the #24 Safety prospect in the nation.

I think he has solid speed, but it is a bit hard to tell from highlights. Keep in mind that the football in that region of California is not quite as strong as elsewhere in the state. His team did show pretty well in the playoffs before bowing out though.

Talent evaluation is not what I do for a living, but I do live in Central Coast Cali, so I'll try to check out some of his games this fall and let you know what my impressions of him are. Of course, if he commits to someplace else before then, I won't waste time.

He recently picked up an offer from Arkansas (they seem to be all over the place this year). Would love to load up on LBs in the class and Jacobs is quickly becoming one of the more coveted prospects in California. I like that we are going after some bigger 'backers too.

Are you Liver's significant other?

Still hasn't narrowed his list. He did tell Scout that he wants to major in Communications, if that means anything.

Jacobs took an official visit to Arizona State and has plans to at least take another visit to Oregon, although that date has not been set up yet.

“I may also take my last two (official) visits,” Jacobs said. “I’m looking at Northwestern and Colorado for those two visits. Both are great places.”

We are a longshot here, but it would be nice to get him in here for a visit.

On November 11th, Scout reported a final 3 of Arkansas, ASU and Oregon.

Really? That's interesting. He's a tough read from what I know. Most good players from the California Central Coast (my old stomping grounds) wind up at either Washington, Oregon, UCLA or Cal from what I've seen over the years. Thank for the update Nik! Then again, I don't exactly give Scout or Rivals much thought ha ha.

Oregon State landed Arroyo Grande's QB and Rivals said that Jacobs is still on their board. Reading between the lines.... No Shot.

No shot for whom?

Seriously...for anyone but the three you mentioned or for OSU only? I have no read on this kid.
