Friending Prospects on Facebook - Avoid Booster Violations

I take it you friended him. Please don't write anything stupid on his wall. And it's Terrel not Tyrell.

You're telling me not to write anything stupid on his wall? I'd understand if it came from anyone else but you. Yes I friended him and I know it's Terrel but his name on FB is Tyrell on his Facebook page so I put Tyrell.

Don't write anything stupid on his wall. In fact, don't write on his wall.

If you're on this site, you probably qualify as a booster.

I want to emphasize that AllBuffs does not condone having direct contact with any recruit with whom you don't have a pre-existing relationship. This includes Facebook and Twitter.

Please click HERE for the short CU pamphlet on what constitutes a booster and what the rules are regarding what you can and cannot do.

Thank you. This is important, folks.

Don't think I qualify as a booster just yet since I don't make any financial contributions to the university unless tuition and student tickets count.

If Tini gets CU in trouble with the NCAA... Oh man, the stoning would be horrific.

Don't worry guys, I just added him and Elijah as friends on Facebook. Haven't done anything else in terms of communication, although a lot of other people have from other schools.

Could you actually get in trouble for this? Im willing to bet that the facebook walls of most big time recruits are littered with posts by fans from various schools, especially the SEC ones.

Tons of fans contact recruits through facebook. It doesn't look like that's going away any time soon. But New Jersey is the #4 represented state at CU behind Colorado, California, and Texas

You should have seen Jadevon Clowney's wall last year before he signed. He had to create a new account and only added friends from then on. I'm not sure if writing on someones wall saying "Come to CU and roll in the BnG" or whatever would fall in the violation area so I'm being careful either way but I do know that their have been some CU fans sending messages so Yuri telling him to come to CU but I am not one of them.

How about if you don't personally know somebody, don't even friend them? If I were a recruit I would get annoyed by random people friending me. Please leave these people alone and let them make their college choices how they are supposed to.

I think FB is so ubiquitous these days that the NCAA will be looking for suspicious activity that may be done by sneaky coaches, but will not try to punish schools for minor BS. JMHO

You are assuming he won't do what he does best...... be an idot

Let's see....added Yuri and Elijah in late April, haven't said or done ANYTHING, not even a post with the exception for people posting on my wall.

But, ummm, didn't you start this nonsense?

No I said I pulled the photo from Yuri's Facebook profile then Nik wanted to make sure that I wasn't doing anything that would qualify as a violation in the eyes of the NCAA.

I am going to assume sarcasm in your post given the NCAA's history of fair treatment to all. No way they would punish CU for minor BS.

Stop stalking athletes dickwads.
:iagree:

I agree that everyone should err on the side of caution. We have been schooled repeatedly that that NCAA will make an example of CU with anything resembling a violation.

Creatini, while young, broke, and dimly lit, could be construed as a booster if someone really wanted to.

Yep. I'm confident that Creatini qualifies as a booster, irregardless of how he sees himself.

I'm not saying Creatini is CU's version of Harvey Up****. But the potential is there.
