I love the "pass it to the fat kid play"! If only we had that when I played. Ah I probably would have dropped it.

We threw it to Nate Solder in the spring game last year and it went for a TD. I guess D2 Dan wasint impressed enough to call it during the season although in his defense I recall a Broncos game in which Mc-idiot decided to throw a screen pass to Ryan Clady. A defender dove right into his knees and I almost had a heart attack.

Looks like he wants to see what's out there besides California. He has recently made trips to Duke and SMU.

He is making the rounds and was recently in Boulder. Think we have a decent shot here, but we are going to have to beat several Pac-12 programs. Look for a decision sometime before his senior season.

4* per Rivals and #103 in the Rivals 250.

"I really like Colorado. It is a great program," he said. "I met with [Buffs head] coach [Jon] Embree and he is a really good coach, it seems like. He is really accessible to his players. And I really like Coach [Steve] Marshall, their offensive line coach. He has coached a lot of great players. So I am really excited about Colorado. I really like the town of Boulder, too. It has a good atmosphere."
Sounds like we have a damn good shot even though he hasn't officially listed favorites.

He looks athletic enough to play LT to me. Not a Solder or Thurston finesse type, but more of a mauling LT type. I'm thinking a Jake Long or Joe Thomas type.

Does this push any of the other guys who were considering SC toward commiting our direction?

Sucks to hear, but we need to use this to our advantage. They cannot take 8 OTs in this class, so there are no excuse not to land a top-notch OL class.

could he be a casualty because usc lost its appeal or more likely is that why he committed today... i think this could be a space saving commitment until he goes on officials

That's probably why he committed today, but in the long run this should help us greatly with the top west prospects that were waiting on an USC offer.

Not sure he is really all that interested in taking many officials. He took a lot of visits this spring, so I think he is set on USC.

Is it possible USC drops him if they can get a Murphy or Banner or Peat?

I doubt it, but you never know. Tuerk is pretty damn good in his own right.

I have seen in some places that USC has cooled on Banner a bit and Murphy is going to be more of a fight than originally thought because Stanford has entered the picture in a major way.

NM I'm retarded, forgot Armstead is going to play defense and I thought they already had a couple of OL verbals.

I suppose one of the negatives of the scholarship reduction is they can make a legitimate case for early PT since they won't be able to redshirt people much anymore.

Strangely, the recruiting statistics show that a program being on scholarship reduction works as a positive. Prospects see a committable offer as more meaningful, I guess.
