One thing about this Bowl line-up...the SEC is clearly dodging the Pac 12.

Seriously, if Larry Scott wants more exposure on the east coast, it would help to face some SEC and Big East teams on the Bowl schedule.

It sure would be nice to kick Beebe and the B12 to the curb, ditch the Alamo for something else in SEC country (or Florida) and make some revolving tie-ins with the SEC, Big East and lower ranked Big 10 teams.

I would like an additional 2-3 bowl tie ins. 6 bowl tie-ins for a 12-member conference isn't adequate, IMO. We should have 8 at a minimum.

I like the Rose Bowl and Holiday Bowl.
The rest are kind of meh.

I mean CU fans are already going to California every season anyway. It would be a hard sell to prioritize the Kraft Hunger Sucks bowl after making a bay area trip earlier in the season to Palo Alto or Berkeley.

El Paso? Seriously...who wants to go there. Ever.

Las Vegas could be okay three days before Christmas...so long as the family is up for a Santa visit in a casino hotel, It would be better if that one was scheduled closer to New Years. And a #5 P12 against a #1MWC sounds like a trap game.

I would be happy substituting the Alamo, Sun, Las Vegas, or Hunger Sucks for a bowl invite to Orlando.

Don't substitute, add. The problem, of course, is that folks on the West Coast travel worse than we do. A tie-in to the Aloha Bowl (or whatever it's called these days) would be smart, as would something in Florida.

West coast CU alums would go to any Cali bowl I would imagine.

El Paso is actually a pretty nice town from what I've heard.

And Who wants to go to Vegas for more than 3 days? You'd go broke. Vegas is short and you can get there in a day driving or take a cheap flight and still be home for christmas.

Aren't there various "at large" bowls that might come calling for any 6-win BCS team? Perhaps P12 #7 and #8 can go bowling at one of those places.

Exactly. And he also needs to get schools to schedule as few of those late night games as possible.

The bowls don't like it because PAC teams tend to not travel well for non-BCS bowls in places like Texas and San Diego -- can you imagine a bowl in Jacksonville or wherever? The PAC schools don't like it for the same reason -- they end up on the hook for all the unsold tickets.

I would seriously question the mental faculties of the people who told you this about El Paso. Not kidding.:wow:

By all means, we should definitely kick a central Texas bowl tie-in to the curb to spite Don Beebe. Nevermind the fact it could actually help us immensely in recruiting.

The whole idea that the Pac-12 needs to cater to the east coast through bowl tie-ins is ludicrous. If it were up to me, the Pac-12 would play all its bowl games west of the Mississippi.

I really, really hope to see a Pac-SEC bowl tie in in the future.

The SEC has a losing record vs. the Pac in the past decade, but they're probably seeing our new $$$$ and may be willing to work with us:lol:

Looks like CU will never have a chance to play Nebraska in a Bowl game for some time. I don't see CU going to the Rose Bowl for a few years anyway. Have fun with Texas, Oklahoma or Missouri in the No. 2 and 3 positions.

Good Luck in the 12-Pac! Beat the crap out of those cheaters over there!

I see Lary Scott juggling this lineup and adding 2 more bowls... possibly across the pacific, hong kong? tokyo? where would you go?

add at least one bowl; take one away from the bigtex12-2whatever conference

The big 12 just lost two teams that historically have gone to bowl games. They have 10 teams and 8 bowl tie-ins. Something will have to give, there.

The assertion is that California based alumni don't travel, and won't show up in numbers in Texas or East of the Mississippi river. What makes you think they'll cross the pacific?

I think it stinks that the P12 fan base is being written off when it comes to traveling to bowls in the Eastern time zone.
At this point, only 1/3rd of the P12 teams are located in California. When you live in AZ, CO, OR, UT and WA, it's just as easy to to get to the airport to travel east as it is to travel south or west.

I hope the P12 doesn't get a bad rap for not traveling. If Wazzou ever makes it to a bowl, they'd travel. Utah fans will show up in force. So will Oregon fans. Colorado is no stranger to the Orange Bowl. We'd travel.

God help us in the P12 if the bowl selection committee thinks all P12 fans are carbon copies of UCLA or Stanford or Cal.

Exactly my thot. Maybe someone will get the hint after the bigmactex conference fails to have enough teams qualify for bowls this year. There's a pretty damned good chance that this will happen.

Too short notice. You may not know your team is there till the first week of December, then you have to book all that in less then a month. No way.
