Coach Prioleau's twitter, although fairly new, has a lot of promise to it - he generally posts on what he's doing each day and seems pretty open to questions or comments from fans (though I havent tweeted anything to him yet...

My guess is its a way for him to keep track of what his own players are tweeting. Like PRich.

It is also a nice way to engage fans and put messages out there for people to see. I know a bunch of people on here aren't sold on twitter but it often proves to be a great simple way to connect with people. I'd frankly expect this to be a requirement of all coaches and officials within the CU AD and to a point the Admin as well.

It is worthless and 1000 good intentioned tweets cannot negate a single poorly worded tweet that could ruin careers and cause needless headaches. Colorado fans of all people should know how one careless slip can destroy a coach.

Yep, it´s a bad idea for the AD to make fans feel more involved and to establish more points of contact between the AD and the fans, alumni etc. CU employees should only be allowed to publicly speak when advised by a lawyer or a spin doctor. Dal Ward needs to be as transparent as the Pentagon.

You speak like a journalist who´s scared of losing his mediator/gatekeeper status because celebrities, coaches and athletes can, thanks to Social Media, now directly interact with fans and don´t need the journalists as a middleman anymore.

You make a valid point. I agree that the bunker mentality is a bad idea. I just see the negatives with twitter far outweighing the positives.
