there's more in the link than i've pasted below. and a little pleased to have data to show my super snooty Big Ten loving homer friends....they are generally beneath the XII (which i've been arguing since time began, somewhat just out of posture) and Pac. now i have some facts.

I think you have to look at the numbers on a per school basis. In the case of the big 12 versus big 10, the one school difference in conference teams doesn't make much of a difference. However, the big east has 16 teams and would fall back to 2.25 1st rounders per school behind the big 12 and big 10 at 2.75 and 2.27 1st rounders per school, respectively. By that measure, the Big East is the most overrated conference.

These per-school numbers aren't valid because the Big East was only an 11-team league before 2005.

I didn't look at the source data and assumed that draft picks for each school would be tied to their current conference. I.e. A Cincinnati 1st rounder in 2002 would still apply to the big east totals, even though they joined later. In any case, the big east had 4 or 5 more members for 5 years so my point that the comparison is not apples to apples still stands.

in the rear view, hows about ISU with 3?

be hard pressed to name OSU's 4 since 2000. Tony Allen, Joey Graham (?), Lucas (?)....
Missouri: Brandon Rush, Demarre Carroll, ?, ?.
