WR from an area north of Dallas who is starting to get a lot of attention. Has the speed for the next level, he has run sub-49 in the 400.

He is going to take his time with the recruiting process, so I hope Kennedy can get him to visit.

When asked who's standing out, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound receiver quickly replied, "TCU, Iowa, and Arizona."
Also looks like Boise State is out of the picture. Would really like to add Thomas' speed and athleticism to our WR group. I hope Kennedy can work our way into his top group because it seems like he is not opposed to leaving the state or going outside the Big 12 conference.

He was a standout at the TCU camp and ran a hand-timed 4.37 40. He is heading to Iowa's camp next weekend and they lead, which means he could possibly commit then. Still hope we can enter the picture here.

Great news!

Really wish we had some video. It's hard to say much without being able to take a look.

Scout has some video attached to that story linked above.

You can tell he has some serious speed, and also that he tends to rely a little too much on it at times. He has the habit that a lot of young players do-a little too much dancing and going east-west instead of north-south.

You can also see the athleticism there though too. Pretty accomplished punt/kick returner and seems to have the ability to find gaps in tight spaces, nice cutting ability. Cannot tell a whole lot about the receiving ability from the highlights, other than he was faster than most of the opponents.

Thanks, BB. Just watched them. Great burst and seems to have good field awareness running in the open field. Natural return man. I could see him doing great things in the Percy Harvin role in Bieniemy's offense.

Not trying to threadjack here, but seriously, does Arizona State really need any additional receivers in this class?

If they can hold onto the guys they have, the answer is no. They actually have too many at this point. Of course, ASU has always brought in mostly offense and then converted the ones who don't make it to defense. It's why they usually have a high powered offense and a terrible defense. Anyway, it looks like they're not going to be able to hold onto everyone who has verbaled.

If so. . .

Woot!:five::congrats::gobuffs:

and a great big welcome. . .

Adam just tweeted it and it's on both the Rivals and Scout boards. Articles coming soon.

Welcome to the Buffs, Gerald!

I really like our WR recruiting this year. It looks like we're getting some playmakers. We've been missing out on playmakers a lot recently.

Nik mentioned it this morning, but Thomas looks like a natural punt/kick returner in addition to nice production on offense.

Seems like he could have very complimentary talents to Jeffery Thomas. Not only are both talented guys but they could make each other more effective.

Nice get.

Instant upgrade to our team speed. Really like that Iowa offer as well.

Welcome to the Buffs! :woot:

:woot:....welcome aboard! Kudos to Bobby Kennedy and hopefully more in-roads to the DFW area in the future! Glad to see the attention put on some of the skill positions as well with many of our early commits.

How many more WR do we take 1 or 2?

I think we'd like 1 more.

I discussed it in another thread, but I'll somewhat repeat here. We've got base needs at each of the positions. At WR, that base is 2 or 3 in this class. But once all those base needs are satisfied, we should have another 5-10 scholarships available. Those will go to "best player available", so if a couple blue chip WRs were to want to make an OV here and we could get a commitment, we would take it.
