...now this guy actually had some offers. I could understand going with a sleeper like him...but I still don't understand why we're trying so hard for sleepers. I thought Embree was adamant that he's not going to offer kids just to get warm bodies. He's the coach though...I guess we have nothing to do but trust the staff - at least this early in his tenure we have to trust him.

As a junior, Maulhardt put up some monster stats on his way to being named to the 2nd Team Underclass All-State by Golden State Preps and 1st Team Offense Juniors by Cali-Hi Sports: 94 receptions for 1,191 yards and 7 touchdowns for 8-4 Camarillo.

you do realize this is a recruit for next year right?

Rivals says he'll be camping at CU this summer: http://colorado.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1188859

"I like Colorado," he said. "They are going into the Pac-10, which I guess will then make it the Pac-12. I know Nelson Spruce, one of the kids that signed with them this year. I need to look more into their program but from what I have heard so far, I like them a lot."

As big white recievers go, im actually more impressed by McCulloch. Watch each of their highlight tapes.

Thinking this might be an either/or thing as far as Maulhardt and Conner Crane are concerned. Cannot see us taking both after taking McCulloch in the 2011 class.

Jake Maulhardt WR/TE

Claims an offer from Colorado. 6'6" 190lbs, being recruited as a TE by Boise St/Colorado, WR by BYU. Offers from all 3. Over 90 catches and 1,000 yards last season. Says Colorado and Boise St will get visits, no interest in BYU.

Probably likes to drink caffeine.

Set the California state record for receptions in a game this weekend with 28 catches for 347 yards and 3 TD's. Yes those are the stats from just one game.

Also Rivals just did an update with him and he doesn't have an offer from any schools yet.

I would take him as a last scholly type player if we can't fill TE number 2 this year. Him and McCullough could work out well for just throwing the high ball over by the sidelines and letting them go get it. He wouldn't be helping the team speed issue however for special teams.
