About rebuilding ...

Hi guys -

I wanted to share with ya'll a little bit about rebuilding from Texas to hopefully get you going. I was gonna put this under Jeff's profile but I really want this to more inspire you guys than to promote him.

His high school team has been in the process of rebuilding for a couple of years now. Hadn't won state since 1998. Use to be a powerhouse in our area until 2007. Last year was our turning point. Honestly we were athletic but undersized. Our premium slot receiver was 5'6 133lbs (#82). We've always had speed but seemed to be owned by our arch rivals Cedar Hill (they are soooo going down this year). Most of the press from last year always raised questions whether we could get the job done. The highlights from this game were us against a team that was new to our realignment and undefeated going into this game. The last play of the game (of course they cut it off) was a catch Jeff had to make with 6 seconds for us to win. I turned purple holding my breath on this one. On his highlight tape it just looks like a regular catch but we needed this win to take over the 2nd spot in the district. He made it and I promise you it might as well have been the state championship cause the bench, the coaches and anyone else on the sideline rushed the field. We got penalized 15 yards for the POT kick but it didn't matter. LOL! It must've taken us an hour after the game was over to leave the stadium.

I have another video if you would like to see the end of it but its a little longer because it covers highlights of the whole game.............This is what I see for CU. I know we will be "rushing the field" in victory soon!

Thanks for posting! Love how Jeff gets up to make the ball his.

#99 looks like a big ole boy. Is is a D1 prospect?

Yeah Terrell was good kid. He graduated Class of 2011 and went to Univ. of North Texas. I thought he had a shot at some bigger schools but not much came thru.

If rushing the field is your thing, CU is definitely the right choice!

Is it too late to nominate Moett88 for a Rookie of the Year Stoudt?

Loved the video. Jeff's first touchdown where he gets (way) up for the ball and then stretched for the goal is excellent. There's also a nice hit on a punt returner in there.

Good stuff! Can't wait to see Jeff in Black and Gold!

I did nominate Moett.

you guys are CLASSIC! just going thru the memories before the season starts. also help to motivate and remember. so if nothing else you guys are getting a player that knows ALOT about rebuilding. it was a GREAT game especially because the other team was talking serious crap before and during the game. the boys were told not to talk back, so when you see him staring down a player after a catch.....that was all they could do. LOVE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL!

I made the mistake of watching the texas state 7 on 7 highlights last night against our rivals desoto and they made it look like we didn't even show up to the game but seemed to have missed the 6 other game highlights when he was scaling a head and shoulders over the defenders for the ball. CRAP! thank goodness we have a good guy that gets the great shots!

That's always best, anyway. Serve it cold, act like you've been there before and will be there again. Thanks for posting the video!

I saw the show late Sunday nite, and was disappointed in the Fox coverage as well. It seemed more important to FSW to play up the fact that the kids got the "privilege" of visiting GaggieLand and playing on Kyle Field. Granted, this was 7 v 7 during the summer, but the entire production was seriously lacking. (p.s., I was really hoping to see Jeff during the show).

Cracking me up with the Gaggieland! It was really strange the way the cut the stuff. The tourney ran on 3 different fields that were not as close to each other. But they were only filming in 2 of the 3 locations as far as the games go. So most of the fox and the rivals press seem to stay in those 2 fields (where there were more high end recruits and last year's winner). But I will say that we got the better field location though on the 1st day. We got the practice field while the other games were played in the open fields that had alot of potholes.

So really scout. com and 247sports did the best of making sure their folks were out at all of the fields. There was alot of hidden talent there too that I know got missed. I think the tourney was actually run great considering they were filtering thru 128 teams in 4 days, they definitely had a plan on who was going to go where to be seen. And when the highlights were broadcast the games looked ALOT different.

It's a good thing we can count on UT to never doctor their HS highlights on TLN, if and when they're allowed to show games. OTOH, would they show their recruits looking good to build their egos or bad to scare off other schools recruiting them? hmmm
