Quick early impressions:

Nembot is physically impressive. Stands out now like Nate did after a few years. Very large and athletic.
Parker is put together. Short but big.
DD Goodson and Canty at KR.
P-Rich and Speedy at PR - run by Cabral.
Tau is fit!
Handler working at C with Cotner, munyer, and Daniels.

Great layout catch by Thornton in drill.
QBs taller! Both Frosh look good but need arm strength and filling out.
Dorman is soft looking (love handles) but good touch.
Schrock looks like a D1 QB.
Both need footwork and work.
Embree, EB, and Kennedy very vocal.

A new world order has begun! I'm taking a group of boys to practice next week and the scrimmage on Saturday. You allbuffs peeps are awesome. To think I've been reading buffzone. Embo actually recruited a class when Hawk didn't really try Awesome videos! Where did that come from? Did you notice the Pauley Asiata family comment on the vid? I'm jacked up for the year. Allsome is appropriate, I think. I'm excited to be here and looking forward to this season.

Just got back. I'll try not to go too in-depth so practices don't get closed. Also, it's hard to tell as it is just shorts and the 1st practice so they were obviously rusty.

QB's: Tyler is far and away the starter. Very accurate and good speed on his ball. Hirschman looked improved and actually pretty impressive imo. After that there's a pretty big drop off. Dorman and walk-on Schrock looked pretty similar. Dorman is gonna need a couple years.

RB's: Speedy is a stud. SO quick. He is gonna have a big season this year. Lockridge and Tony Jones are 2a 2b imo. Of the newcomers D.D. actually impressed my quite a bit. He is very quick and fast. Creer didn't really stand out but it was hard to tell on the RB's as they were all the way across the practice field.

WR's: I'm actually higher on Toney than Richardson. Toney is really gonna break out this year imo. Very fast and physical and catches everything. Richardson is FAST. After that there's quite the drop off. Didn't notice much on Gray. Canty is super quick/fast. Nelson Spruce is definitely gonna play this year. He looks the part. Also McCulloch surprised me. He is really big and catches absolutely everything thrown his way. Vincent looks pretty fast and he will push for playing time imo.

TE: Deehan is a stud and that's it. Thornton looks really good receiving. He made a pretty spectacular diving catch that drew cheers from players and fans.

OL: Hard to tell on this group as well cuz they were so far away. Starting group was as suspected with Daniels at C. Mustoe is definitely a year or two away size wise. Didn't see much of the other newcomers.

DL: Haha Nembot the Giraffe. He looks like one running around. Seriously. He is almost too tall but is a physical speciman. He might have the biggest arms on the team. Based on size alone he plays. But he was absolutely lost in the drills. With that said he will be a stud and might play this year. Juda will play as well because of the necessity. Chidera is a beast and is our best DE by far. He is gonna sack some QB's this year. Hartigan lined up as an LB/DE. Pericak, Cunningham, Obi, Bonsu all looked solid. It even looked like the starting DL was (more like 3-4) was Hartigan, Obi, Cunningham, and Uzo.

LB: They looked pretty solid. Major and Rippy are locked in to start imo. The last slot looks like it was up to Mahnke and Liloa. Woodson Greer is big but he looks out of shape. Daigh is a lock to play. He is big and pretty fast. K.T. TUumalo looks fast but needs a redshirt year for sure to add some bulk

CB: It looked like the "starting" CB's were Sandersfeld and Orms. I doubt that holds up and Orms went out with a minor injury. I think Kyle Washington eventually switches to S or
even WR, he has a better body type for those positions. Sherrard looked pretty fast along with Henderson. Olatoye was first off the bench

S: Solid with Perkins and Polk. Terrel is both of their backups. Didn't notice much on Jermane Clark or Harlos

K: Didn't kick nearly as much as with the last regime (overkicking anyone?). Stood around most of the practice as opposed to with Hawkins they seemed to be kicking all the time
P: Brundage looks pretty good. Grossnickel looks improved as well but I'll give the nod to Brundage for now

KR: Richardson, Speedy, D.D. (he looked good here), Lockridge, Gray
PR: Same minus Richardson I believe

Coaching:
Embree is one fiery dude. His son Taylor (UCLA WR) was there btw. He lost his voice about half way thru and he definitely gets on guys if they don't do something right. Bieniemy and Marshall were hard to tell as they were across the field but I could still hear Bieniemy. He sounds EXACTLY like Ice Cube. At one point he told Speedy to, "Quit dancing around and get the F*** up the field." Greatness. I saw a lot of the DL and Tui definitely is a technician. He knows what he is talking about. Him and Kanavis worked pretty well together. Kanavis was really focusing on the frosh but more specifically Nembot. I think he is making it his personal mission for him to succeed. Kanavis was pretty fiery as well. Along with Kennedy. I think just about all coaches got in on ST's. I'd say about 25% of practice was dedicated to ST's if not more. Definitely excited about that.

Hope that's not too in-depth. I'll post more that I remember.

Edit: I'll add that MTM was at practice

I know it is practice one - but how do you think Tyler will stand up against other QB's in the Pac12?

I'm pretty scared about the secondary. Or more specifically CB's. But I think Tyler can compete as a 2nd Tier Pac-12 QB behind Luck and Barkley. Maybe around 6?

My additions and Re-affirmations:

Tylers footwork is sooo much better than the other Qb's its almost scary. He looked good.

Nembot is just funny to watch. So raw. Reminds me of The guy in Blind side when he went to his first practice.

Ill take my bias away and say under pressure all 3 punters were about equal. But they had Darragh run the fake punt haha. When they Punted without pressure Darragh was the most consistent. ZG had some boomers but a decent amount of shanks. And Brundage was a little more consistent but behind Darragh.

Vonnie's layout catch was about the only thing that got a rouse out of the crowd.

And on top of it all I ****ing love watching Embo and EB get on people its so awesome! If anyone took one lazy step they heard about it.

Cant wait til they put the pads on!

Go BUFFS!
