CU 97, OSU 91, Cal 85, ASU 84, UCLA 80, WSU 71, UW 65, Utah 63, Oreg 56, STAN 50, USC 27, Ariz 1

This doesn't mean we can actually block anybody, but I guess it is better than U of A.

The thing with Arizona is they not only graduated four starters, but they also graduated three other OL in their two deep. Losing 7 out of your top 10 OL in one year is ridiculous.

UH is somewhere between UofA and SC we have to get to Moinz to have a chance.

Yikes for Arizona, they aren't exactly easing into their schedule this year either.

After the first week, those next five weeks are brutal:

@ Okie Lite
Stanford
Oregon
@ USC
@ Oregon State

Damn.:wow: That looks like a 2-4 start at best.

I don't know that much about CU's returning O-line, but I can tell you that in the Beavers' case, having a lot of returning starters from our 5-7 squad and horrific O-line is not necessarily a good thing. :bang:

Not sure where they are getting their numbers. Per cubuffs.com:

Blake Behrens (12 starts in 2008 and 4 starts in 2009)
Matt Bahr (8 starts in 2008 and 3 starts in 2009) - before moving to Tight End

Adkins - 20 starts over 2009/2010
Miller - 35 starts spanning last 4 years (including 2008 when he started 4 but got a Medical Redshirt)
Bahktiari - 11 starts, all in 2010

Our core 3 starters have 66 starts between them. (Miller, Adkins, Solder).
If they are counting Behrens/Bahr, that would be 27 more, or 93

Deehan has 18 starts and Bahr had another 3 at TE....

QB's tend to progress a lot under Reilly in the second year. I think the Beav's offense will be fine this year.

may not mean much, but kinda glad to see Utah, SC, UO, UW, U of A, Stan all at the end of the list. could be worse?

I actually think this stat means quite a bit. Continuity is one of the most important things with OL play. Reps count more than anything when you are only as good as the collective. OL play is about as collective a concept as there is in football. Individually great OLineman must be complemented by a unit that takes care of its job. I don't have time to do the research but maybe one of these bright young law students we have on here could look at the correlation between OL starts and ultimate wins and losses. My bet is that it is pretty direct.

I don't care if the OL was terrible last year, I would rather have an upper-classmen laden OL than a bunch of newcomers.

I agree. We will know we are close to being "rebuilt" when, year in and year out, we have a seasoned bunch of 3-5 year OLineman starting for us. I would expect healthy rushing numbers with that as well.

You want law students doing math?

Ryan Katz has the potential to be REALLY good. He has an absolutely cannon arm, and the Beavs have some great receivers. The only question is, will he have enough time to throw the ball? Our O-line last year was pathetic. Horrible. Not just the worst in the Pac-10, but one of the worst in college football especially from a BCS conference. They couldn't open any holes for Quizz - he literally juked for every one of his 1000+ yards last year. They couldn't pass block worth a damn, especially towards the 2nd half of the year, and Ryan was running for his life on nearly every play. Many games it actually looked as if they quit. It was sickening. Now we don't have Quizz, so who knows if we'll have much of a running game to keep defenses honest. Still, a lot of Beaver fans are optimistic, even about the O-line...if for no other reason than they can't get much worse. :bang:
