I did not get that out of the article at all.....It actually read like Kurt Vonnetgut's Player Piano. I think it would kill college football.
The real thing he wants, not a better deal for the athletes, a fair shake for the players, a better system for the schools or the fans. What he wants is a system that lets more slimeball agents take a cut of the money generated by somebody else. Implement what he wants and what will you have, filthy agents going down to the HS level trying to get in on the best potential players at that level so they can make more bucks.
It's all good though because his solution would be just to make HS football a pay for play deal as well. As long as an agent can make a buck the system is fine with them.

Typical narrow view of an agent lawyer, all about the money. As others have noted, turning College Football into the equivalent of AAA baseball would kill the sport. College Football is not minor league pro football - it is an entity of its own, and at one time was far, far more popular than the NFL (many of the best players weren't even interested in an NFL career).
It is based on tradition, affinity to the schools, historical rivalries, and - commitment to amateurism. His proposal ignores all of that and assumes you'd have the same marketing value, and fan attraction by making it NFLjr. He's wrong.
