John Schrock solidifies hold on No. 3 QB job for CU Buffs

I thought he looked solid in the scrimmage. hopefully we've found another hidden gem.

Holy ****, jack mills is his granddad? Allsome! Jack is an effing cool dude.

We may have to adjust a little on the available schollies in our next class. Schrock looks to be earning one of those available.

By the way Jack Mills is his grandfather, not his father but still a cool thing.

I really hope we did not waste two scholarships on QBs in the 2011 class.

I think it is pretty safe to say Burnette is fitting that description, but given the situation, it was an acceptable risk to bring him in. As for Dorman, way too early to tell.

Obviously way too early to tell on Dorman, but I am not going to give the coaches a full pass on Burnette. It is one thing to miss, it is quite another to miss badly. There should be more competition at the QB spot right now.

Fair enough. Burnette is looking like a complete 100% miss, and having played college ball, coaches have no excuse for not scouting him. And do you mean more competition for #1, or #2? Cause its hard to compare schrock and Hirsch with hirsch injured. Looks like there is no competition for #3 at all though, and given Burnette's performance in the spring and what I saw of Dorman, that is not surprising and you are correct, not so good.

All of the backup spots really. I know Hirsch's injury is an issue here, but it still seems mostly a depth chart by default.

I haven't seen Burnette at all, but where are the failings? Leadership, technique, arm strength?

How much QB "competition" do you think there is at OU? Or OSU?

Do you think that the backups at OU/OSU are giving Landry Jones or Brandon Weeden much competition, or that either team is splitting reps with the backups/starters? Hell no.

Someone can't read.

But as always, thanks for dragging OU into the conversation.

 **** OU. And ya, the lack of competition for our backups is a problem across the team. However, most of that is not (yet) Embrrito's fault.

I get it, reading can be hard. It is not easy to grasp the concept of the "clarification" post that can sometimes be employed by a poster to follow up a preceding post (the one you so astutely read). In this case, my post that came after that post said: "All of the backup spots really."

I apologize for being so vague in that post. In the future, I will tie all my posts to OU in some way to make it easier for you to comprehend.

The snark is strong with this one today.

I'm really happy to finally have 1 year without a QB controversy heading into the season. The last few years were so frustrating/
