Can I have a beer at a CU football game?

I can at a CU Bball game.

Per George Orwell.....

All men are created equal, but some are more equal than others. The only way I can tie this to CU football is peeps (Regents) on the west side in boxes can drink hard liquor, wine and beer, peeps on the east side in suites can drink the same, but I can't have a ****ing beer at a football game because I may get out of control on a $7 beer? Can't tell you how many times I've almost been hit walking down Colorado by luxury cars pulling out of close in lots after the game.

Sorry, I just felt like bitching.

You're right. But it's a conference rule. At least there's a booze loophole we can aspire to. In hoops, when we made the NIT they had to shut down beer and wine sales in the Buff Club room since the entire arena had to be dry for the event. That really sucked.

Seems like the school could earn more money with it, plus i thought the consensus is that dry games forces kids to go overboard binging beforenthe games in order to make up for none during it. Plus it leaves the student section Into zombies in the fourth quarter. Any chance this might change?

They could definitely earn more money with beer sales but they're too worried about political correctness to go back to it. Plus now I guess the Pac has some ultra-conservative rule against beer sales. It was nice, the vendors carried around beer sales back in the early-mid-80's when this was still a free country.

West Virginia is bringing beer back to the stadium this year, they needed the revenue. Man, I bet the other Big East fans will love that, the couch burners are already a tough crowd to play in front of.

Tailgate close to the stadium problem solved. Or you can sneak it in which I have done many times. I have only been caught once. Texas tech last year, I missed the comeback.

I have a snapshot memory (which in itself is amazing) of waking up after a rough Friday night of drinking and prepping for an early game at Folsom by doing shots (alone of course) over the toilet...just in case they didn't go down so well. And those were in the days when we still had beer in Folsom. Aaaahhhh, college.

Oh, on a similar note, I had an opportunity to review my college transcripts yesterday as I was pulling together a package for a program to which I'm applying, and frankly I didn't do nearly as well in school as I remember.

The highlights of my Buff football experience when I was a freshman (Fairbanks last year) included two things: First, our pathetic student section cheer recognizing one of the few first downs we made in those games. Second, the scores of students who would buy ten beers at a time. These were the same guys that would recruit the hotties down in the first row to get passed up to the top of the section on our hands. Unfortunately, that tradition was also banned when the hotties complained of sexual abuse as they were passed up to the top of the section.

Conclusion: beer must be a bad thing at games.....
