November games in Colorado Utah

Are original Pac-10 teams gonna have some weather shock in cold games in November in Boulder and SLC? I know they are used to playing in cool and rainy games in the NW, but what about actual cold and snow?

And while we don't have a lot of snow games, they do occasionally happen. You can count on at least 1 or 2 cold games each year in Boulder though.

I hope it's one of those brutally cold games for the USC game the first week in November similar to the 91 fusker game, 91 KU game, 96 KSU game, 00 ISU game or 07 fusker game.

yeah i dont...

What's interesting is to see USC playing a game in inclement weather anywhere. Potentially...

Prior to the expansion, USC got itself a deal by never playing in the Northwest during November (i.e. -- only good weather games). They would not risk playing in inclement weather if it risked a loss...

It'll be interesting to see if USC after this year will be playing in a place with potentially bad weather within the Pac in the month of November ever again...

Really bad weather games in Boulder are pretty rare. To be honest, I can't remember the last one. How many years as it been?

Their deal with Notre Dame is that if it's in South Bend it's an early season game and if it's in LA it's late season. ND would love for all games to be late season because they have trouble filling the last half of their schedule with decent competition with conference seasons in progress.

I don't think it'll be that big a deal. Everyone has to go to Pullman every other year, and it can be pretty nasty up there late in the year. I think the altitude will definitely be an adjustment, though, any time of year.

Over the last decade or so USC got a deal where they would never come to Seattle in November.

Everyone does (or did) go to Pullman every other year. But not necessarily in November.

But USC for the last decade has not played a game in the Pacific Northwest in November. It's allowed them more "fair-weather" games if you will. I'll be curious to see if this holds true with the new Pac...

i.e. - no games in Utah, Colorado or Washington in November...

Well, they play CU in November this year... suckers.

I don't think the weather is going to make much of a difference unless there is snow to go along with the cold - but that happens very rarely.

The chances of really bad weather in early November are pretty slim. You're much more likely to have it be sunny and 55 degrees. The trick for this game is that it's at night. It could get down into the 40's. That's colder than USC is used to.

I think it was that 91 Fusker tie, coldest game I've ever attended -- at any level.

They are rare, but we've had many since that game.

What I'm talking about is cold air temperature games for the most part. We DO get those EVERY year, especially in November. I can remember some recent Missouri and Nebraska games where the air temp was bitter. The last time we beat Mizzou in 05 it wasn't bad weather, in fact it was sunny, but it was damn cold. That was also the first weekend in November. I remember ladyblaise cooking jambalaya at the sackygate and damn it was good on that cold day.

07 Nebraska we had to chip ice off the bleachers.

The average low in Boulder for the end of October and early November is right at 32 degrees fereinheit. A night game on average then will probably be in the high 30's, low 40's with a chance to be colder.

The 07 fusker game was very cold, but it wasn't uncomfortable, if that makes any sense. I didn't get the impression that the players on the field had any idea how cold it was.

It won't really matter how cold it gets. I'm going to make a giant pot of chili that day. We'll be fine.

I had to take my coat off in that game. It started cold but got warm as CU started coming back. Maybe it was just me jumping and screaming that made me warm up though.

I do hope Scott got rid of that bull**** USC scheduling advantage. I am shocked to hear about that, and it is definitely bull****.
