Who wants to go? $32 per person, or $275 for a table of 10 (9 if we get a coach at our table).

We haven't done this in a few years. Anybody want to go? It's held at the Balch Fieldhouse. It usually starts around 11:30 and lasts until around 1:00 PM. Typically, they have a few people get up and talk. Bohn, Embree, and maybe Benson or DiStephano. Mark Johnson or CJ will usually emcee the event.

If enough people want to go, I'll work out the details of getting the table.

Where are we at with this?

I just got the email about buying tickets. Should I go ahead and do it individually or can we do coordinate an AllBuffs table?

So far, it's just the three of us. That's not enough for a table. This has been up for a week. I think it's safe to assume that there is not enough interest in an allbuffs table. Go ahead and buy your tickets individually. Maybe we can meet up and all sit at the same table anyway.

I am taking too many days off this fall already so I won't unless we have a Sackygate beforehand, in which case, let's do this ****ing thing.

Any of you bastards that want to go but are too cheap/broke/student to pay for them, Allbuffs is giving away two tickets to the luncheon. Check the stickied threads above for details...

Attendance was just under a thousand. Largest turnout in 15 years.

One of the highlights for me was when a player from each position group got to introduce their coach. Doug Rippy was last and you could tell how much Coach Cabral means to him and the other LBs. Rippy teared up a little as he was talking and the crowd was on its feet for quite a while. It was a pretty amazing moment.

I would write a longer and more thorough report except I'm still trying to find some walls to run through for Coach Embree. He is FIRED UP and ready to go.

Embree is such an amazing speaker... he really got after us fans to travel to the away games and fill up the stadium @home. He really emphasized how important the fans are to the team. I thought that bit was awesome. Really really excited for this season... Coach says the players are ready physically. You know that coming from him, and based on the reports on the level of physicality that this staff requires, that he means it... and it's true. I very much enjoyed hearing Embree speak more than any previous CU coach that I've been in the presence of... granted that's only been the last three but this guy is an EXCELLENT motivator. 8 days... can't wait.

Edit: One other thing I thought was awesome was how he mentioned a couple of times that the media has us ranked 13th in the PAC12. Pretty funny... said that he's all the more excited to play the games because of it.

This was probably the 10th kickoff luncheon I've been to. It was similar in most ways to previous years luncheons. Attendance seemed good, but it didn't feel like it set any kind of record. Embree was great. He's enthusiastic and you can tell his love for CU runs very, very deep. They are putting a lot of emphasis on this Hawaii game. They really, really want this game. Badly.

I want the game bad as well but sure hope that if for some strange reason the Buffs don't win it doesn't emotionally set the team backwards.
