Two University of Hawaii football starters — outside linebacker Aaron Brown and left wideout Darius Bright — have been suspended from team-related activities following their arrests this morning.
They were accused of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, for their alleged involvement in a fight in a Waikiki nightclub.
UH athletic director Jim Donovan said an arrest is considered a "major violation," according to the school's student-athlete rules of conduct.
Donovan said the Warriors, who open their season against Colorado Saturday, will not be allowed to practice or attend meetings until their cases are reviewed. Donovan and UH head coach Greg McMackin discussed the matter today, and will be meeting Monday.
The players have two avenues of appeal if they disagree with the impending punishment.
While suspended, they remain on scholarship and may attend classes.

Good for us, bad for them. Hope it doesn't negatively affect their lives but gives us an advantage.

I guess they didnt get the whole "Jordan Jefferson" Talk Embo gave the players before this weekend.

It's a poke at Hawaii and it's not like Hawaii is a great academic school.

tini... do u study? I mean.. I have been on here 5 years longer than you.... and you have 800 posts less than me....

Honestly, I get a chuckle sometimes at the CU academic snobbery... at least the most of you presumably graduated. Creatini maybe you should prove you can graduate from a university before you start flapping your fingers on the keyboard.

This is funny. Purely from a rankings stand point, Hawaii is not good. That's all I'm saying.

:iagree:

I beg to differ. Monkey's don't know English and I'm not sure how throwing **** at the professor would fare.
First of all, you don't know english. We've covered that many a time here. Flinging poo is not the reserve of the ignorant. It is a time honored academic rite.

University of Hawaii has some excellent programs and you can get a fine education there. What's up with the douchy attitude? I want CU to win, but I'll be cheering for the warriors the rest of their schedule.

Doesn't China vote CU one of the top academic universities on earth? YES THEY DO! :sad2:

remember, creatini has posted that he plays mind games that his profs don't understand.

so, step off.

i have a friend/former gf who went to hawaii. she got her PhD at Berkeley at teaches at Notre Dame. so, roll that academic smack freshman....

I've been looking for the "University of Hawaii bosts excellent academics thread", is this it?

Unfortunate about their two players, though.

Duh. This absolutely shows that Hawaii students are smart. If these players didn't get suspended, then their team wouldn't have a legitimate excuse for losing their first game of the season.
