“Basically things are like they were before,” said Manaea. "I have set up a visit to Colorado, Coach Tui and I really close. But WSU is still in the lead, it is the only school I have been to that has offered. I feel like they are taking a chance on me, that they have faith in me even though I only played four games last year.”

He may say Wazzu is in the lead, but he seems to be open to several schools.

Probably because he's polynesian and/or Tui recruits WA. A lot of kids get recruited by coaches that don't coach their position. EB was Kough's recruiter. BK is recruiting a number of kids in TX that don't play WR, etc.

I know he has said he favors Wazzu, but I really look at him as a player we could get to pull the trigger on that visit.

So Wulffy thinks he has a better safety than Ma'ne and we haven't even gotten a verbal from him yet? :bang:
He is probably expecting to have a huge senior year and holding out for UW offer.

Saying that you are full and saying that you think you have a better safety are two different things. That said, it might just be a tactic by the coaching staff.

Official Visit scheduled for 10/21. Rivals

I didn't know Ma'ne had set a date for his visit - we'll call him and let him know how great CU is. Of course he'll see that for himself when he gets there. The program is a great fit for Ma'ne. He has a great work ethic and LOVES football. During the off season we'd run into him at the Barton camps up at UW every weekend working out and running drills not to mention just about every camp we attended. He is a great kid, we think the world of him. He and Walker hit it off from day one. We're looking forward to seeing what Lakes HS does with their season, the last three years they made it to the big dance but never took home the trophy. I hope it happens for them this year.

DoWork - you should really have Walker visit UW in January. Take a visit to Boulder also about then. He won't believe the difference. Might be the smartest thing he ever did. Madison in September is very nice. It's a big decision after all so he really should use all of his resources.

I was just in Madison last weekend ... and couldn't have been happier upon my return to Chicago. I went a full 3 days without seeing a hot chick (though cheese curds are pretty damn tasty).

We love tailgating so we plan to check out the Allbuffs tailgating during the season, not sure exactly when yet. We love college ball and you learn alot about a town by how they tailgate! January is out of the question becuase Walker is playing in the Semper Fi Bowl on January 3rd in Phoenix (hand picked by Tom Lemmings in April when Walker had an opportunity to meet him and Tom stayed behind for about 30 minutes to talk one on one with Walker, that made our year!) but depending on when our playoffs fall we may try for mid-late November. Since Walker attends a small school most of their games are on Saturdays (they share the stadium with another school) so it makes trips challenging. Somehow we still fit in a few games. Oregon was a "trip" that's a different crowd for sure (pretty ruthless to those that are not Duck fans) and Boise last year was great fun, great crowd. I told my family it was time to get back to the Samba Room in Denver and stay at the Brown Palace again. One of our favorite spots.

We'll be watching the game this week in Hawaii, it should be an exciting year for the Buffs!

I think DoWork might be okay with the lack of distraction.

The AB natives saw an opening and tried to go for a hard sell. :smile2:

We love Walker and would love for him to change his mind, so I hope that's what is coming across. Regardless of what happens, I'm glad that the school, community and coaches have made a good impression and we're getting a good word put in with players like Manaea.

Oh, I was being dead serious, though obviously would welcome Walker with open arms should he change his mind.

The Samba room has been shut down for some time now, but there is always Centro in Boulder and Cuba Cuba in Denver for Cuban cuisine. Just in case you plan on visiting with Walker again.

Cuba Cuba just opened up in Boulder. It's in the McGuckin center. Cross streets are Folsom (W), 28th (E), Canyon (N) and Arapahoe (S). It's on the Folsom side.

Is the one in Denver any good? I'd go down on a lawman for a good Cubano sandwich.

I had a business trip last fall to Madison and ate fried cheese curd at a place called the Old Fashioned. The first few bites were tasty, then it got kind of nasty. My "house burger" that they recommended had a fried egg on top and various sauces on the bun that probably tipped my meal over the 10,000 calorie mark. The chicks were cute, but more full-figured than the ones here in FL, who tend to be stick thin from presecription drug abuse.
