Two Glaring weaknesses on this team...

First the OL. Horrible pass blocking and they got pushed around.

Two, tackling. If CU tackles properly, moniz doesn't get those two long runs.

Another thing, hansen seems to drop back 2 steps and then stands there for 10 seconds.

I thought CU's pass defense wasn't bad and for a few missed tackles and a dropped INT, they played Okay.

The offense was killed by penalties and an OL that can't pass block.

I hardly saw the fb tonight for this power running game.

Same old, same old.

Losing is getting past old.:bang:

No change from past regime IMO.
Considering it's the same players and was just the first game....

Seriously, first game with a new staff. It was still better than the Montana State game at home and Embree needs to get his players, not Hawkins' players in here.

Losing is getting old.

I thought the BS would be gone once Embo and staff took over. Penalties are still discipline problems. We aren't there. The staff wants physical play and we aren't there either. We got pushed around, the Oline sucked tonight. I think EB is not that skilled as an OC. The purported commitment to a running game wasn't there tonight. I see nothing similar to what Embo wanted to establish for the program overall from his first presser. So far it has been all talk. I'm not buying in yet. Miles to go.

F***.

OL was a disaster: Grade F-
QB not much better: Grade F. Good Lord, cannot hold the ball like that, makes Tebow look good in the pocket
RB was pretty ugly: Not just the running game, but picking up friggin' blitzers

Defense, not sure how to grade. Held Moniz to 178 yds, that's grade f***ing A with alot of pressure on Moniz. Couldn't contain him and he torched them, Grade F.
Thought the DB's played pretty damn well. Orms has a future, Henderson was not a weak link.

Freshman punter held up.

Coaching: Well, they were well out of sync. Just my 2 cents, but get the ball into PRich's hands!!! All August long we heard about Speedy being the primary weapon, nope it's gotta be PRich.

Overall, the OL, Hansen, and offensive staff deserve a large, large chunk of the criticism.

I heard all the excuses during the hawk years. I didn't listen then and won't now.Your a fellow buff and it's cool and all but you and I are going to be knocking heads all year it looks like.

the team reverted to past habits in the face of the unfamiliar. Simple as that. All the stuff embree taught them went in the window in the face adversity. Its going to take a while to change the habit patterns.

O line got worked. Secondary was better than I expected. We didn't run the ball enough, too many single back sets. Great job P-Rich. no turnovers from the d?????????????????

Not throwing deep to prich is inexcusable. They gave it to us the whole game and the one time Hansen tried it he threw one of the worst passes I've ever seen. Ever. Th needs to wake the **** up or sit the **** down. That was terrible, and it's obvious 90% of his problems are in his head.

Sorry I'm just not jumping under the bus after one game with a new staff with Hawkins' players. I'll reserve judgement until Embree gets his own players in here that fit his system.

No Diribe(sp) forced a fumble in the 3rd quarter that led to a score I believe.

Keep having losing seasons and they won't be able to get talent in here.

Tough to throw deep when the OL can't block worth ****

dont worry youll be pushed under it soon enough...

I think you're right, but no picks underneath with that offense and the dline's pressure? more please.
Agreed. There were a few chances for that to happen but one was dropped and Kasa missed on one that resulted in a TD. The D gave this team a chance to win but the O sputtered and often gave the D a short field to work with.

So, basically, we can't block or tackle. Not a recipe for success.

I apologize, I thought you were being too negative with the 4 win prediction. That looks generous at the moment.

Team isn't very talented. The coaching staff has their work cut out for them. I think they did show some fight but lack of talent is too much to overcome.

Yep. They ran the ball down our throats. Is that play calling?

Prich was open all day in single coverage. They could have lobbed it up and done better than that worthless bull****. 3 step drop. And the oline didn't get really pathetic until the game was out of reach. ****. I hate seeing quitters in a cu uniform

I actually thought the defense played pretty well tonight. Obviously, the big runs got us, but overall I think they played pretty well. I also thought we stuck to the running game as planned. Even down in the 3rd quarter we kept running it, but when the O-line doesn't get any push and you can't run it, you have to go to something else. The problem wasn't that we didn't stick to the running game, the problem was that we couldn't run the ball. Down 17 halfway through the 3rd you have to start throwing it.

O-line was horrible, run and pass blocking. Hansen looked better in the third, then reverted back to his old self.

maybe there was a reason for the shotgun all last year...

EB needs to get the ball to P rich more. I'd move him inside for slants since it seems hansen is more comfortable throwing the ball between the lines than outside.

The main weakness on this team is the same it has been for nearly 5 years. Offensive line. Once again, for the 4th year in a row, I've been tricked into thinking the offensive line was going to have its **** together. Nope. They are ****ing terrible. If they aren't having some stupid penalty then they're blowing assignments or getting pushed around.

This team has too much dead weight in the upper classes. There are some nice pieces, but the majority of the team lacks talent, discipline, and grit.

The alarming thing is this isn't a Hawaii (Havaii) squad that's exactly immensely talented. Even at our low point in recruiting, we bring in more "talent" than they do
