Do they get in the title game if they run the table now that they beat Georgia in basically a home game for the dawgs?

I really expected UGA to win. Boise just keeps impressing me every year. They know how to play in big games!:wow:

Alot depends on how UGA does this year. I don't think Boise would deserve to be in the title game over a 1-loss SEC, Big 12, or Big 10 team.

I do, like Dahh said Boise just wins year in year out. They have beaten 7 ranked teams the last 5 years. 7-2 record vs. ranked teams in that time.

I don't buy the argument about what they've done "over the years", it's only this year that matters. That was a nice win last night in what was essentially a road game, but I also don't buy this idea where beating 1 high profile team automatically makes them legit, and it's yet to be seen how good UGA will even be this year.

Also don't forget that TCU's loss to Baylor actually hurts Boise because now TCU isn't as 'unbeatable' as originally thought. It also hurts them not having BYU in their conference anymore as well. So in short, no, they don't get in

This.

Will they face any other team in top 25 this year? Looks unlikely now that TCU lost. AFA is solid, San Diego State is good too, as is Fresno State and Nevada (but without Kapernick?); but none of them are going to "move the needle" in the rankings/polls unless the Broncos completely destroy everyone they face.

Based on computers alone it will be hard for them to "jump" BCS conference schools, and they will get "jumped" in return by any surging BCS schools that are behind them now that go undefeated.

That schedule is good for a BCS at-large unless all the major conference schools beat up on each other enough that more have 2 losses than 1, at which case you could make a strong argument for Boise being in the title game. I also think this is the year Richt "resigns." 7 or 8 wins tops.

This Boise team is as talented as any in the country.. 6 sacks against a team with supposedly the #1 C and OG in the country. Petersen is 7-1 vs AQ teams, with wins over the PAC-10 champs, the ACC champs, and the Big12 champs.

Pretty sure they've only played 1 game so far this season.

I always kinda hope for Boise to go undefeated and get in. Im just scared they will get Bent over by an alabama type team. But the more i think about it and the more I see them play don't think that will happen.

What is most impressive is Boise State usually plays their biggest competition in weeks one or two. After that it is downhill and they roll. Tough to be that cohesive in game one knowing it is probably the most important game of the year.

You can also spin it and say that the coaches have all spring and summer to plan for those 1 or 2 games and don't have to worry about the rest. That's how I feel.

i was thinking the same thing. but, i respect the hell out of Peterson. his guys come to play.

There is a huge difference between having to get up to beat a couple of decent opponents every year vs. having to be up every week playing in a quality conference. Boise may do well against Georgia, TCU, and AFA. At the same time UNLV, UNM, CSU, Wyo are all virtual bye weeks. Any of the top half of the SEC, Big 10, Big XII, PAC could have a shot at going undefeated if they only had to really focus on 3-4 games a year and could use the others to develop their depth and work on their game.

One of the great things about college football is the fact that the championship isn't about who gets hot at the end of season, it is about who is best over the whole year. Boise thinks that they can go out and play 2-3 quality games, blow out a bunch of walk-overs, and think they deserve a trophy.

I also don't buy the argument that they don't get the chance. College football is about money at the end of the day. Other schools have made the sacrifices neccessary to get the shot at the big time. TCU has passed up a bunch of Texas schools and others to get into an AQ conference. Fresno spent their time playing anyone anywhere and ultimately showed they didn't belong. Boise thinks that they deserve "a fair shot" without earning it.

Bottom line, in my mind, Boise will never deserve a shot at the BCS title game until they earn it with a season worthy of that recognition.

No...... not if there are at least two other BCS schools who have also ran the table.

The bring it every year, this year is no different. They are flat out talented and can play with anybody any week, any place.

BSU's starters are just as talented as most other schools but they don't have depth like Ohio St, Bama, LSU and so on. You put BSU in the SEC or even the Big 10 and I think you see a team get worn down over a season and end up maybe 3rd or 4th in said conferences.

rigors of a BCS type conference teams start to see what you do over say the month of October and have the talent to execute that gameplan. body of work on film deep in a conference slate against roughly equal talent makes the game about different things. hat on hat football and less knowing you can scheme this or that against a lesser team. WAC team may know what you are going to do, but they don't have the personnel to stop you. also, when you are playing lesser teams in October/November...going on the road isn't as meaningful.

I'd rep this post 5 times if I could.

i understand and get that UGA was willing to schedule BSU. let me ask you this. lets say that BSU wants to play any and all commers. exactly who will be willing to play them?

they cant be blamed that no one in the AQ confrences are unwilling to play them (for the most part). they cant do anything about their conference schedule. if no one good is willing to play a game with BSU.... whose fault is that? its not bosie.

that being said.... i dont disagree with the overall premis. its like those kneebraska teams from the big 8. they played one game a year. mostly it was vs OU but in the latter years vs CU. then they would go to the bowl game and get their asses kicked because they would never schedule anyone good. they all beat their meat because they won 10 games a year but most of those games never ment **** because they never played anyone good.

i think if bsu were to get into a natl champ game vs an sec team.... they would be totally destroyed. i would rather see ohio state again.

I think our last coach showed how easy it is to pile up wins up at Boise, and left us a roster full of players who probably belong at Boise

Boise just beat an SEC team. They deserve a chance and will probably get it, providing they run the table. OU will have a loss. LSU will lose once. I'd like to see them play for a championship. They've had the best record over the last 5 years.

But they are only 1-0 this year. Who gives what they did in the past?

Only way to know for sure if Boise could hold up in a BCS conference week after week is when and if they ever get in one. Also gotta take into account how much getting in a bcs conference would benefit their program. Anyhow it's not to that point but who knows with the expansion talk when it might come about. As for now, they could go toe to toe with anybody. Would they win? I would say that I wouldnt be shocked if they won the whole damn thing if they got the chance. They execute what they do in all facets of the game as good as any team in the country if not better. That said, as strong as the SEC is and Big 12, I dont see them getting the nod over a 1 loss team from those conferences.

They are stuck with their conference schedule but the OOC is another story. They have to buy their way in. Play 2 for 1s, 3 for 1s or even just payday games on the road against top teams. And not just a couple but their entire OOC schedule. They also have to draw enough fans at home to make the money to pay serious opponents to play them in Boise. This isn't cheap but it is doable.

I don't buy the idea that it is impossible. TCU is now in an AQ conference, closer to home Utah has done the same, both earned it both on the field and in the cash box. Boise isn't. Their OOC still includes Toledo and Tulsa this year, last year it included Wyoming and Toledo. The year before Miami (OH) and Bowling Green, 2008 Bowling Green and Idaho State. Not exactly a take on all comers argument waiting to happen.

Any decent team should win at least 8-9 with the schedules they are playing.

Sorry I don't buy any argument that puts them in a BCS bowl much less the MNC game.

But they are only 1-0 this year. Who gives what they did in the past?

Thank you, again. I don't give a **** what they've done over the past 3, 5, 7, etc. years, nor does it matter. It's about this year. I can probably name about 20 teams that beat a top-notch SEC/Big10/ACC/Big 12 team in recent years. So what. Do it week-in and week-out and get back to me. Oh wait, Boise doesn't get the chance. Well too bad, go home and play in your little WAC, MWC or whatever weak-ass conference you're in now. Winning 1 game a year against a BCS team doesn't make you national championship material.

Boise looked good, but Georgia is also the same team we beat last year with Hawk. Just putting that win in perspective, since ya know, previous years should totally matter when it comes to the BCS NC. Let me know if Boise ever plays more than 2-3 hard games a year and I'll support putting them in the big one.
