Predicting CU's last 15 recruits or so.

I don't think before I post
My take on who we are going to land. Please feel free to critique and give me feedback on why we are or won't take said players. The Number represents there stars on Scout.
1. Samson Kafovalu DE 3
2. John Stuart DE 3
3. Zech Green DE N/R Greyshirt potential if we land a higher rated recruit elsewhere
4. Ekpen Iduoze DT NR
5. Jake Schany MLB NR
6. Brett Bafaro FB/OLB 3
7. Ryan Santos S 3
8. Dominique Love S/DB 3
9. Cameron Countryman WR/DB 2 Greyshirt potential if we land a higher rated recruit elsewhere
10. Jordan Williams OT 3
11. Garrett Weinreich OT 3
12. Colby Cyburt OT 3
13. Zach Jones TE 2
14. Michael Thomas WR 3
15. Chris Harper WR 3

So that would leave our recruiting class filled out with mostly 3 star players with a few projects on the back end and one elite QB. Is this good enough for a top 40 recruiting class?

If we finish like that, we are in trouble. Not even sure if that is a top 50 class.

There are definitely some names I like on that list and I think there's a good chance that about 1/3 of them end up as Buffs. We'll do much better than that, though.

RB: Wes Brown
FB: Dennis Smith
WR: Javon Williams
TE: JCF
OL: Colby Cyburt, Jordan Williams, Shane Callahan
DE: Kisima Jagne, Samson Kofavalu, Kalei Aeulua
LB: Reshawn Hooker, Jake Schany
CB: Will Jackson
S: Chris Solomon, Ryan Santos

That's probably the absolute best case scenario.

More likely:

RB: Chris Brown
FB: Bafavaro or Smith
WR: Cameron Countryman and Chris Harper
TE: some random project
OL: Maybe Cyburt or Callahan and a couple sleepers
DE: Kofavalu seems probable. Zech Green probably. Maybe Jagne
LB: Schany seems like a lock. Hooker hopefully.
CB: Dominique Love
S: Santos seems probable at this point. Maybe Moeakiola or Manea since they're not being recruited too hard by anyone else.

I just get the feeling that Wes Brown is developing a relationship with Bienemy that is going to bring him here.

I also think that this staff is going to pull a couple of big surprises out of the hat around LOI day, not unlike what we saw last year with Asiata. Also somebody who is a raw talent like Nembot.

I hope we are still in on Bayliss and Callahan. I'm not sure we are going to get any of our remaining top recruits. I do hope we get one more LB besides Schany to join this class.

One sure thing is that there will definitely be some playing time available next year to some true freshman. WR, RB, TE, DL, DB are all positions that could use an impact player or two.

Why do we want Baylis this kid hasn't done anything in his first 2 games he has 4 catches for 8 yards and no TDs

In-state and a 4* rating. :smile2:

Honestly, he went from my most under-rated player going into this recruiting cycle to the guy who I think is the most over-rated. Very good athlete and a ton of potential. But he is being graded on potential, not production. And he needs a lot of development as a football player. I thought he'd be a mid-range 3* guy and we'd be able to get him to CU as a developmental TE in this class. I was pretty surprised when I saw the early offers from Michigan, Oregon and others. I still really like him and would be extremely happy if he committed to CU, but he has been over-hyped imo.

What 4 star players are we looking at that we have a serious chance of landing? The kids from Jersey? Callahan and Bayliss? I think those are the only 4 star guys we are even in on. I hope we look to the JUCO ranks to add a couple 4 star guys from there. It hasn't worked for us yet but we have to keep trying. I also think we might be a good option for a WR or S transfer for next year who can come in and compete for a starting spot right away like Logan Gray. We missed big time with Pugh.
