I thought you guys would enjoy this one. Has this guy seen CSU fans and students?

I started going to the CU game back in '98 I believe and have gone
every year since. I've always tried to get club level seats so I
could buy beer so I've probably dropped $3000 bucks for these games
over the years. Totally worth it. There has been a lot of good
(tailgating, super games and hot coeds) and a lot of bad (CU Fans).
Here is tally of the things that have happened to me that I can
remember in the last 13 years.

1. At mile high one year (a CU win) we had scalped some amazing
luxury box seats. In the bathroom a short CU fan with an inferiority
complex was drunk and shoved me (6'2" 230lbs) and told me how much CSU
sucks. His sober friend, noticing the relative size difference rushed
his buddy out the door.
2. At mile high another year (CSU win) a 30 something female CU fan
poured beer on my head as I stood tastefully clapping for a CSU
touchdown. In my rage I turned around and told her boyfriend that if
it happened again I would throw him ten rows down the stands. In
retrospect, why didn't I call security and have her kicked out???
Would have been sweet.
3. In Boulder I had to walk in front of the CU student section to get
to my seats. Some kid got in my face and hurled the most hate filled
rant I have ever heard in my life leaving me speechless. He was a kid
and I was probably 34 at the time, I didn't know what to do. I was
stunned. My CU fan buddy stepped in and helped resolve the situation.
That was crazy.
4. That same year in the stands, an older man, probably in his
fifties sidled up next to me during a TV timeout and started a
conversation in a friendly way and then proceeded with backhanded
compliments and outright disparagement of my alma mater. I listened
for a while trying to be friendly but being a pretty secure individual
and realizing that I was over him politely asked him to go F&^%
himself. He wasn't expecting that. Plus we won that game, in Boulder.

What is it about their fan base? If they were really a great football
school, their fans would act like Nebraska or CSU fans; fans with class.

Ha!!!!

Yeah I got unopened beer cans thrown at my head last year and beer poured on me last year but all their fans are angels.

BTW - in my experience, CSU fans are by FAR the least classy and most ill-behaved of any fanbase

What is it about non-classy fan bases that think they are the classiest?

I've never seen a CU fan do any of the stuff I've heard reported. Once a guy in our section, we will call him the bearded wonder, said some bad things and CU fans got all over him. The worst thing I've ever seen at a game was from a Cal fan but I also saw that he was just one douche bag and the rest of the Cal fans were great.

It is possible some CU fans would like to do that.... :smile2:

That last line gave this guy away. One of the 99.9% of the CSU fan base that adopts the fuskers as their favorite big time school just to share in the mutual hatred of CU. Apparently the "woe is me" "poor innocent me got picked on for NO reason by big mean CU fan" stuff comes as part of the membership kit, along with the "101 opportunities to remind everybody how classy your fellow fusker fans are" handbook.

There is another laughable post where some guy claims people were throwing stuff at his TWO YEAR OLD.... and they weren't even near the student section.

Students can get rowdy at any school. But the fans at Folsom that aren't near the student sections are some of the calmest fans you will see.

I started going to the CU game back in '98 since that was the golden era of CSU football and I am a bandwagoner I believe and have gone
every year since. I've always tried to get club level seats so I
could buy beer so I've probably dropped $3000 bucks ($230/yr, or about 1% of my yearly net income) for these games
over the years. Totally worth it. There has been a lot of good
(tailgating, super games and hot CU coeds) and a lot of bad (CU Fans).
Here is tally of the things that have happened to me that I can
remember in the last 13 years.

1. At mile high one year (a CU win) we had scalped some amazing luxury box seats. In the bathroom I talked s*** to a CU fan and got shoved. The CU fan's friend, seeing how much bigger he was, rushed him out the door before I could complain to security. How unfair!
2. At mile high another year (CSU win) a 30 something female CU fan poured beer on my head as I stood belligerently cheering for a CU
injury
. In my rage I meekly turned around and told her boyfriend that if it happened again I would ask them to switch seats with me. In
retrospect, why didn't I call security and have her kicked out??? To answer my own question, because it didn't happen and because I can't think quickly enough on my feet.
3. In Boulder I had to walk in front of the CU student section to get to my seats. Some kid finally called me on all my s***-talking and got in my face and hurled the most hate filled rant I have ever heard in my life leaving me speechless. You're not going to believe this, but I am often at a loss for words. He was a kid and I was probably 34 at the time, I didn't know what to do. I often do not. I was stunned. My CU fan buddy rushed me off before I could stupidly start throwing punches at things that I don't understand and therefore make me angry. That was crazy.
4. That same year in the stands, I was next to an older man, probably in his fifties and politely asked him to go F&^%
himself. He wasn't expecting that. That learned him. Aren't we so awesome and classy?

What is it about their fan base? If they were really a great football
school, their fans would act like Nebraska or CSU fans and tell all other fans politely to go F&^% themselves.

Fixed

I love the fact that half my graduating class goes to that pathetic school and proceeds to act as if the last 5 years determines how CU has been historically.

Usually they go with how many bowls games has CU been to in the last 3 years? The same amount as CSewerU has NC, Heisman's or BCS Bowls.

ALso amusing when they say we only won half of a national title.

Hrmm. I thank him for spending more money on going to CU home games over the last 10 years or so than he has spent going to CSU games.

My first CU game was at Mile High in 1999, my freshman year. I have bad memories of that game for many reasons (CSU pounded us--it was Barnett's first game), but the most shocking part was the CSU fans. Here I was, an unsuspecting freshman and I had beer thrown at me, was cursed at numerous times and even spit at. I'm sure there are plenty of classy CSU fans, but I didn't see any of them that day. For what it's worth, as much as I despise Nebraska, I never had a bad experience with their fans at Folsom (it may have been different had I gone to Lincoln).

I'll you what. My ex went to CSU. So did my brother. I have done my share of time at Hughes. Funny **** happens at Hughes, and most of the action does not occur on the field. I was at the CSU-Wyoming game where the students charged the field with a minute left on the clock. I've seen drunken brawls happen over a guy who wore a Notre Dame sweatshirt. I've definitely had beer poured on me and been in fights because I said I went to CU, even though it was some lame WAC game. And of course I'm leaving out all the drunken stuff that happens in the student section, mostly because our student section is not exactly the best-behaved.

At Mile High, you don't have to go far to see idiot behavior, but the only thing I've ever seen that shocked me was a group of CSU students screaming at an older couple in CU sweatshirts. I intervened, and I immediately had 15 or so CSU students in my face. The only person with me was my 60-year-old dad. I was pissed as hell, and not thinking, and frankly should have had the hell beat out of me, but fortunately for me there wasn't a total moron in that herd of drunken idiots.

Anyway, point is, CSU fan is generally a drunken slob who knows very little about football. Having them talk about class is simply laughable.

Goathumpers get all jacked up for one thing...to rag on CU. It is pretty simple really, when you are nobody and irrelevant, you look to bring somebody into your misery with you.

I've never had any bad experiences with CSU fans until last year. I was helping the band out on gameday crew and while I was climbing down the wall to go refill some water jugs, a bunch of CSU fans started taunting me. I did absolutely nothing to them. All I was doing was carrying a water cooler. That put me over the edge to the point where I hate them now. I hope we pound them into irrelevant oblivion and then drop them from the schedule forever.

Yeah I got unopened beer cans thrown at my head last year and beer poured on me last year but all their fans are angels.

Thats total bullshits. You come get me next time something like that happens, and I promise you I will kick some asses.

Assholes better not let me catch them wasting full beers like that.

Let's go rammin'
Nah.

This is important, and risky. You can't pull it out too early. After Pete Thomas is 12 for 15 for 30 yards and a pick, bust out this baby: "PISTOL PETE FOR HEISMAN." Include a pic of the cartoon character.
