Pete Checkdown Thomas

Dude, i'm still shocked his gaze didn't totally incinerate our pass rush on that last play. He was benevolent.

That dude better learn to slide when he scrambles, or he will get scrambled. He took some hard shots today.

I posted elsewhere that Checkdown Pete was 20-30, 176 yds.

My mistake, that included the trick play completions. "Checkdown" was 18-28, 157 yds. A dominating 5.6 per pass avg.

rushing average, adjusted for sacks: 8.4 ypa. Passing average: 5.6ypa.

Michael Vick 2.0

The Lambs answer is staring them right in the face: Move Checkdown (is that his new nickname, or will they start calling him D2 Pete??) to running back with that 8.4 avg, and move Momo Thomas to QB-- Momo has a nice 623.2 QB rating after the trick play touchdown.

But he's soooo accurate with those 5 yd passes. Ram fans acted like he was the next elway, he's not even the next kyle orton.

Ramnation has turned on Pistol Pete today.... and there is also a movement to go out and hire Urban Meyer or Jim Tressel!

Meltdowns are fun when they happen to other teams. Hell, they're even kind of fun when they happen to us...just not as much fun.

....heard that from my brother-in-law (csu student)....what makes them think they could hire either one of those guys???

This wouldn't be the first time that CSU hired a former Ohio State coach. The last one had a tearful (and public) meltdown on the podium.

Do they realize that those guys command salaries larger than their football program revenue? Is this tied to their certainty that CSU will be picked to join the Big 10/Pac-12/new Big 12 and that everything will change for them?

Who can CSU honestly recruit to take that head coaching job? In the MWC, they are a cellar dweller, in performance, revenue and alumni support. I feel bad for them. Their tiny blip of good performance under Sonny may not be seen again for quite some time. They have a lot to do to get their act together, and I wish they would go ahead and do it (paving the parking lot around Hughes ain't gonna cut it).
