I may never go to another CU/CSU game in Denver.

I've just about had it with that place. The latest insult? We're told we have a full hour after the end of the game to clear out of the parking lots. After 30 minutes, the DPD is out in full force kicking everybody out. "Talk to your athletic department" is their response. Hey, doucherocket - my athletic department told me I have an hour.

It's become untenable. I can't even enjoy a beat-down of the lambs anymore. If I can't enjoy it, why bother? This may be the emotion of the moment talking, but if I had to make a choice right now, I'd say I'm through going to this game.

from my TV in Dallas looks like a bunch of people already decided that. Lots of empty seats from my perspective. The game belongs on a campus, it's not like it's a BSC conference championship game.

Or how about the cops going and scoping out what they thought were some underage drinkers by the tailgate. I got a chuckle when all the kids had an ID when they asked. Those cops spent about an hour trying to decide if that tailgate was worth to bust.

BTW, damn impressive csu crowd!!!

In all honesty, I think the small crowd probably had more to do with the start time of the game than anything else. Who (other than a half-crazy dumbass like myself) wants to get up at 5:30AM to load up the car to go to a tailgate?

Most CSU people had a lot farther to travel than their CU counterparts. an 11:30 AM kickoff is full retard.

I had about the same drive time as most csu fans

Got told my shirt that says "CSU always blowing the game" with a ram blowing a Buffalo wasnt welcome in the stadium. So i turned it inside out and went to another entrance lol. But still what a joke its not like im gonna be sitting with families and if you bring your kid to the game i hope you are expecting them to see some vulgar shirts, mine doesnt have any curse words on it. Then had to sneak my girlfriend into the student section because she didn't have a student ticket, Its general admission in there its not like somebody wont have a seat if someone without a ticket for there sits in there. I hate that place.

it's been 5-6 years since the guys in my ticket group decided we'd sell the CSU/Milehigh tix and have a backyard BBQ, a couple bottles of bourbon, and a small keg of quality beer....with the ticket money and what you save on gas, eats, booze etc. i don't think anyone regrets it. i don't.

bad enough to go from pretty good seats at FOlsom to section 5000 at MH.

Talk to you athletic Department. I have tried to avoid comment but I think Bohn does not get it with tailgating...

1. The 11:30 kickoff time is to kill the tailgating - this was something demanded the the CUAD according to the Metropolitan Stadium Authority.
2. The Cal game the State Liquor Board and the Boulder Sheriff's Department descend on the tailgaters on the CU campus and are told they cannot have alcohol on Campus. After a scream of protest and at least two major boosters getting someone in the AD department on the phone - the whole thing is chalked up to a misunderstanding and the Sheriff's department made to look like the bad guys. Sheriff Department deputies say there was no misunderstanding...they were invited in by the CUAD and the briefing was run by the AD.
3. Eliminate beer from the Coors Event Center at Basketball games.

I could go on...but I wonder sometime is Bohn heads up the Boulder temperance league.

I totally agree, I am done with the Denver game...antiseptic venue(Pat Bowlen managed to build one of the most plain vanilla stadiums ever seen). Plus to add insult to injury, my loyalty to the program is rewarded with some of the worst seats in existence.

At least you didn't get kicked out for it.

i agree with you though i'd wager this year's crackdown is directly a pre-emptive PR thing driven by the fact a kid died on campus a couple weeks ago to alch poisoning. and there was one in 04 or 05 as well. i'm not saying i agree with it and the vast majority of tailgators are adults, just that's how the PR arm of CU is going to think/make a public presentation.

Stadium sucks, atmosphere sucks, argus staff sucks, and the CSU fans were ridiculous, even the girls

A lot farther ?? maybe 35-40 min .....
that's nothing for real football fans-

Yep, that's exactly what I did, sans the keg. Instead of spending $100 or more for 3 tickets and parking, I spent about $50, made some kickass baby backs on the smoker, and had a great time.

I do not regret the decision to not go to this game at all.

Sacky, sorry you and others had to put up with Denver's so called "finest" Maybe Bohn will get enough complaints this week to make sure this kind of crap doesn't happen again. And the 11:30 start time didn't do anybody any favors. IMO, I'd like to see this so called "rivalry" cancelled. CSuwe isn't worth the time or the $$$. It only benefits them. Unfortunately, I think contractually were locked into this series until 2018?

I'm with ya!! I'm done with it. I tickets in the club level so kinda nice but the stadium was an embarrassment live and on TV. It's a money grab. $55 for upper level. I'm done.

Perception

It is all a matter of perception. Granted Mile Hi doesn't have quite the same atmosphere of the campus and Folsom. But all things considered I would rather go to a CSU game with the in-state flavor than, say, a Drake game at Folsom Field. I thought the "rivalry" was good this year and there was a lot of good interaction between the green/gold and black/gold fans this year. This was also noted in the Post (although I know many here hate the Post, for some reason I am really not completely privy to).

I saw two bad things, a REALLY drunk twenty something CU fan in front of me for half of the game (he probably spent the second half in the clinic). And.....a group of CSU guys were very rude and confrontational after the game where we were tailgating. And I suppose I am just an older guy, but complaining about having to vacate an hour after the game does not strike me as the outrage of our era.

If I had been given the full hour, I wouldn't be complaining. We were given 30 minutes, then told the stadium people wanted us out so they could clean the place up for the Bronco game the next day. We were then threatened with arrest for tresspassing. The interaction between CU and CSU people is irrelevant. The problem is the site. I never said we should stop playing CSU. What we should do is stop playing CSU in Denver. They don't want us there anymore than we want to be there.
