Klatt ripping coaching staff yet again

I lostened to JK going off on CU's handling of Hansen. "He is poorly coached" according to Mr. Football. Bad footwork, yada yada. CJ tried to point out the staff has not had much time with him but Mr. Football would have none of that. Listen, TH definitely has issues. But to lay it on Scherer and the staff who have had about ten weeks with him is bull****. TH's dad was a good QB and, I'd think, has worked with TH since he was ten. Maybe he just is what he is?

Klatt is a tool. He thinks he is the greatest QB in CU history. And he thinks Shawn Watson is the ****. So, basically, I'm surprised Klatt graduated from CU because he is almost full RETARD.

it's a bit weird to me to read about Joel on here as a radio guy and read some of his stuff anti-Hawk as the self-selected mouthpiece of CU Tradition. heck, he didn't even QB the 01 team. i'm glad he has pride in the program and was a nice player for us....but, no more or less than Mike Moschetti or someone. not like he's Scooter or Chad Brown in the Mac Heritage picture.

i think he does a nice job on TV.

anyway, the NU people sure jumped ship on Watson pretty fast...

I could give a **** what Klatt says really. Hansen does have a tendency to get lazy or sloppy with his footwork. It's not that way all the time just at times, needs to be more consistent there. It has alot to do with some of his accuracy issues imo. I dont think it's poor coaching at all, think it's just some habits he's formed in the past. Our qb coach has seen it im sure, sometimes it takes time to fix that even when it's worked on.

Honestly, I think he fancies himself as a better "coach" than some on the staff. He concluded his rant with a bunch of coach speak about "opening 5 to 7 on his drops. If you don't know, imagine a clock with 12 being straight ahead and 6 behind you. When you drop back, you have to open 5 to 7! IT TAKES NO SKILL!! IT'S A LACK OF COACHING!!!!" Chill out!

IMO, this is the answer.

I watched the game again last night and muted it. I heard enough of him slobbin on Checkdown's knob the first time. Im no qb guru but he isnt the only one that has seen Tyler's inconsistent footwork. Maybe he's the second coming of Bill Walsh, in his mind that is.

Klatt has gone over the top during the past year. It is unfortunate because I think he can do a good job when he is toned down. He also feels the need take extreme opposite positions from time-to-time to balance his CU homerism and stir the pot.

Instead of giving Joel the attention he's craving, I think we should all focus on what a tremendous asset CU has in a guy like Charles Johnson. Great Buff.

Klatt's the poster child for what was going wrong when the program went into serious decline. Guys at the top who had such over-inflated opinions of themselves that they couldn't see all the **** that was wrong with the program.

I noticed that too when watching the game on how he went off on Thomas so much and I thought it was pretty weird. I think he's just jealous because he knows he will never be as great a buff as CJ was. You can tell it gets under his skin. I don't listen to that show very much being in Austin but the few times I did, I remember him cutting CJ off every time CJ was telling stories about the old days with Coach Mac and inserting some stupid story about his time on the team.

The way he described it, I think he's probably right. It's either a lack of coaching, or (more likely, IMO), a lack of concentration on Hansen's part.

Uh really? Klatt was probably the only positive PR talking piece during the scandal defending the program to everyone. I don't agree with his statement about the coaches but to say he's the poster child for what was wrong with the program (Barnett, Tharp, players in trouble) couldn't be further from the truth.

CJ is one of my all time favorite Buffs too bad he has to share a show with Clatt. I'd like to see him and Alfred hook up and do a show instead.

I heard this segment of the show on the way home today, and it seemed to me to be an over the top criticism. If he has specific knowledge that the staff is not doing enough in practice, that'd be one thing. But he came off as an ***** about it.

I generally like Klatt, but times like these he comes off as a young media guy trying too hard to make his name. I respect him for his accomplishments at CU, but really, being an average QB for a team that kept getting clobbered in the B12 championship game, does not qualify him as the be-all know-all of what the current coaching staff is doing in practice. They're 3 games into the friggin' Embree regime for crying out loud!!

He sees Trent Dilfer when he looks in the mirror, but the rest of the world sees Skip Bayless.

I loved that he was an outspoken defender of the program, but it's part and parcel of him being delusional about what they were. It continues to cloud his thinking to this day. Anyone not-Barney isn't ever going to be good enough for him as a coach. Any quarterback not-Klatt is never going to be the representative of the program that he was. Worse, part of this whole act is that there's a genuine disregard and disrespect for the university administrators and the fans.

I watched the game replay and Klatt was criticizing Hansen's footwork because he supposedly "tripped" Speedy with "sloppy footwork" even when the replay clearly showed Speedy tripped over his own feet

Eh. gotta fill airtime. Wish he would spend that airtime criticizing CSU, its not like he can get any mileage talking about that dead horse now that their season is over. Plus, I'm sure he is jealous of TH for 1) having a talent like Prich to throw to and 2) setting records.

I was watching the replay of the CSU game, and he blamed Hansen for overthrowing Deehan when he was wide open. I thought it was pretty clear the ball hit Deehan right in the hands. Deehan should've caught that ball.

Was it a perfectly thrown ball? No, but when the ball hits you in the hands, you catch that ****.

Only if deehan had shaq's arms, it was over thrown.

I used to defend Klatt but he's become trent dilfer without the ring. I must have missed joel klatt leading his team to a big 12 championship. The North was awful during his tenure, he should be thankful.

You didn't watch the replay close enough. Hansen tripped him.
