IMO, like him better than major at lb. One of the bright spots. Love his motor!

One of the bright spots on D. The injury seems to have affected Major. It seems like there's been a major drop off since last year where he was all over the field

We have alot NFL prospects on the roster.

Hartigan could be a stud OLB in a NFL 34 defense like the Patriots, Texans, Greenbay and etc.

Rippy is going to play on Sundays

Major is also going to play on Sundays

I hope Rippy stays for his senior season.

Unless you're talking about someone else named Major, the only football Jon Major will be playing on Sundays is Madden

Rippy is nowhere near ready to leave,he's just coming into his own this year, and he has plenty of work to do

Wish I could see the team you're seeing

We do not have a lot of NFL prospects on this roster.

Let me name a few for you

Conrad Obi, Doug Rippy, John Major, Josh Hartigan, Ryan Miller, Ryan Deehan, Uzo Diribe, Will Oliver, P Richardson all have a shot at playing on Sundays. And there could be more as players continue to develop there game.

Out of that group Miller and Richardson are the only sure fire ones to actually be drafted. The rest are borderline. That's not talent if you can only name like 8 players on the entire roster, most of which will probably not play in the NFL

Lol. If we have all that nfl talent , then why do we suck?

Josh Hartigan will make an excelent OLB in the NFL, teams like Greenbay will take him. Jon Major is a very good SAM linebacker. When i look at College prospects, i look at how they are going to translate to the NFL game, not what they did in College. Major got all the tools to be a great SAM linebacker in the NFL. Will Oliver is going to be the next Mason Crosby. Conrad Obi will be an UT in a 43 defense. Uzo Diribe will continue to work on his pass rushing move, maybe transitiion to 34 OLB position. Deehan is an excellent blocker and can catch the ball, he will find a home in the NFL. P Richardson is going to be a great Slot reciever in the NFL. Ryan Miller should move back to tackle, could be a good Right tackle in the NFL.

I disagree with all of that. Hartigan probably has a future at OLB in the NFL, but that is IF he can gain 40 pounds of muscle

You either have a crystal ball or you are Josh McDaniels,if the latter is true **** you for drafting Tebow in the 1st round

Rippy has been a pleasant surprise. His development this year has been a huge help to the defense both in terms of attitude and also athleticism.

This team doesn't have a lot of NFL talent on it but what they have is mostly on defense.

On offense right now I see.

Ryan Miller - One of the more disappointing players on the team for me but has ability and measurables, likely pick in the first three rounds.

David Bakhtiari - If he continues to develop will be a mid round draft choice who had a good chance to stick, will probably be moved to guard in the league due to lack of height (NFL likes 6'6" or taller tackles)

Ryan Deehan - lacks outstanding measurables but will get a look as an UFA

Speedy - Potential late round pick based on production last year and speed, more likely UFA due to size.

PRich - Needs to get more consistent, has the talent but must back it with production, could go anywhere from 2-3 round to late rounds depending on his development.

Long range - Steal of recruiting class last year so far. Tyler McCulloch has the size the NFL likes, is physical, and has NFL hands, lacks blazing speed but could end up as a player.

Defense.

Cunningham may get a UFA look but lacks the size the NFL looks for.

Pericek is an athlete D-lineman, classic 3-4 DE hybrid between traditional DT and DE.

Uzo-Diribe may develop into a guy who gets a look, fast pass rusher are always welcome in the league, he needs to put on size without losing speed.

Rippy - If he continues his development could get drafted in later rounds, a little smaller than the league likes but has attitude and quickness.

Major - Has measurables but production hasn't matched measurables and injury history may scare teams away, potential late rounder, more likely UFA

Henderson - Playing well for a Fr. has good measurables already, if he continues to develop could be a high round pick.

Polk - I know that people give him grief for his instincts but has been put in some bad positions by the injuries at corner, has big play potential, and has outstanding measurables, could develop himself into a mid-rounder or play himself right out of any chance to play.

Hartigan - Will not get drafted, simply doesn't have the measurables, should get a look as a UFA and play his way into the league, his special teams ability could make the difference.

Perkins - Good college player but lacks measurables. At best UFA.

There could be some others among the young guys who haven't yet seen the field but until they play can't make any opinion.

Looking through the roster to write this I am struck again at how little truly top level athletes this team has. Even a lot of the guys on this list are not elite level athletes but could play themselves into a look. When we play some of the teams on the schedule with elite talent we are going to look like we are running in mud.

I have the problem with the word measurables when it comes to draft stock. It bothers me, i watch film and i see a JoSh hartigan who is 230 take on 300 pounders and win, i see a guy display a relentless pass rush and then drop back in coverage to cover a TE. The other day i was researcher Jerry Rice draft numbers. Was shocked to see Jerry Rice running 4.6 in a 40 yard dash.

No. Brad Jones was a much better player and actually had legit size and was drafted in the 7th round

Number of guys in the NFL who don't have the measurable but for the most part the league isn't interested if you don't have the height, weight, and 40 time that they consider to be the model. This is why we see guys drafted in the first three rounds who never contribute and some guys who are undrafted who have long careers. At the same time there are some other guys who were quality college players who either never get a chance or get ingnored when they are in camp.

P-Rich? Yes. Miller? Will at least be drafted. Rippy? Possibly. Will Oliver? Maybe. John Major? Better chance of being Prime Minister of Great Britain. The rest? Maybe if they learn to long snap...

You're ****ing dumb.

At least we've found some common ground we can all agree on here....

You are right there are the Oakland Raiders and others that are obsessed with measurables. Josh hartigan may be a late rounder or go UFA. If Hartigan can bulk up to like 245-250, he will be a great rush OLB in the NFL, i have no doubt about that.

First of all, Hartigan is not 230, he is a generous 220.

And I love the fact that everyone always brings up Jerry Rice. If you can give me a guy with his work ethic (hint: good luck), then I will be just fine drafting WRs who run 4.6 and not have any reservations.

I really don't see more than 3 or 4 guys on the entire team getting drafted right now.

Rippy is playing better than major. We are two small up front to hang with Big physical OL's.

Terrell Davis ran a 4.7 40 at the Combine.

The combine is good for only a few things

The interview
Physical
Drug test
Positional drills.

All the other things are irrelevant, like 40 yard dash, vertical jump and bench press.

You guys are wrong about Major. He's been spending most of his time in pass coverage-that's why he's not all over the field anymore. Rippy is playing that role, and he's playing it, I assume, because he's not so good in pass coverage. We'd be better off if Rippy could cover a back or TE now and then so that the opposing offense doesn't know which one is coming on the blitz, but it doesn't seem like the coaches trust Rippy to cover.

It's pissing me off to see Major do the job he's assigned and then hear fans call him out because he's lost a step, yada yada yada.
