Colorado was louder than Washington

Interesting quote from Cal's QB: “Washington was pretty loud, but I feel like Colorado was louder than Washington,” Maynard said. “It got pretty loud in Colorado. I’m sure it’s going to be even louder in Oregon. They’re right on top of you.”

I hope the fans are still into it after the Buffs' poor start to the season. A loud crowd like the Cal game can only help.

Cool. Folsom was definitely rocking by the 4th quarter. Hope we can do that again against WSU.

Folsom is a good stadium for crowd noise with how close the fans are. Enclose the north endzone and get the west side involved more and it can be even louder. Washington is big, but they have a track, so the fans aren't right on top of you.

great atmosphere; great tradition; beautiful campus; quality education. We shall return! It only gets better folks!

I have been to both many times and can honestly say that if Folsom was louder that is quite and achievment! Husky Stadium is just so huge that it can't help being loud, but the fans are set further away from the field so that probably gives Folsom and edge.

We need to exploit that and stay loud and help all we can. Become the 12th man of college football like the Seahawks boast at Century Link aka Quest field. The 12th man literally helps win games for Seattle, I have been there and seen it. The Rams game to clinch the playoff spot last year then the playoff game against New Orleans. Those crowds would not let them lose those games, it was an amazing phenomenon. So loud you can't even think straight. Especially on Marshawn Lynch's famous run that caused a tremor. Folsom is smaller but it is close to the field and can really be a huge advantage for us. I know we all know this but let's hope we get loud and stay loud. Need a WIN BAD!!!!

Not gunna ever get loud if the blue hairs on the west side don't lighten up.

Renovate Balch, put a 2nd deck on the west side, enclose the north end, and that place is going to be unreal. The blue hairs won't be able to stop it.

yeah what is that? I am on the south west corner and the fans acted like they were at a rockies game! I was feeling guilty for standing and blocking thier view for a while, then I got over it and just stood up. Everyone got into it late in the cal game but there was no intensity early on. Even when Prich was destroying the cal dfense. I dont get it.

Hopefully with a renovation they'll offer the long-term fans a deal for moving into a new west side club level. We need to have it loud behind the opposing bench.

I've always felt that the student section should be behind the visitor's bench in all sports.

I don't know about that, but I'd love to enclose the North end zone and have that area circled like the student section does the south end zone. Make that an area where recent alumni (graduate within the past 10 years) can buy specially priced seats. We need that loud and rowdy instead of having a visitor section that gives the opponent an advantage on that side.

Enclosing the north end isn't even on the facilities master plan. As much as I'd love to see it, I don't think it's going to happen for a long time. We'll see a renovated Balch and a 2nd deck on the West side first.

That would bring capacity up to what 60 - 65K? Sorry to say, but we have a hard time filling Folsom now. I don't see this kind of expansion until the demand far outstrips supply.

The only way CU will ever get really loud is if the broncos move to L.A.

disagree, have heard that stadium pretty damn loud. A stadium doesn't have to be huge to be real loud. It's a perfect stadium for noise with how it's built, there just needs to be some minor changes to make it even louder.

the stadium is very loud compared to the p12. i've seen games at most of the p10 stadiums. ou and uw are loud, sometimes. the colosseum is really, really loud when it is at capacity and the trojans are winning.

CU has a real chance to add to its homefield advantage by being louder than these teams are used to experiencing.

also, on the placement of the student section and the visiting team... am i losing my mind? i thought that CU used to put the visiting team on the east side and that they changed it because of the sun... but, that was a lot of years ago so i may be wrong...

when i was a student, dave rimington, all american center for the fuskers, may or may not have flipped off the student section while standing in front of it on the field. and, he may or may not have been hit in the face with an orange in retribution. and, he may or may not have then scurried away and kept his helmet on thereafter (with no more flipping of the bird)...

The WSU game is sold out, or so I've heard. The Cal game was pretty close to full. I think we're close. Season tickets are up over 25,000. This is all done with a team that sucks. If they would actually win some games, this would be a tough ticket. I don't think we're very far away from being in a spot where demand outstrips supply.

bolded part...

i think RN did that for a year or two. that is the only time i can think of it happening. i am not 100% sure on this but, i do think he did try that for a year.

I do have to add, we need to do something about getting the students into the game earlier. It looks like **** over there until midway through the 1st quarter. They need to get their drink on earlier.

To say we are louder than husky stadium is really saying something. Going to hear how loud for myself in a few weeks. Their stadium configuration totally helps, not much for seats by the end zones but, a very steep wall of fans on both sides. Paul Allen wanted exactly that when they built Seahawks stadium. Going to be even louder after they take out the track.

Part of this is due to the asinine way they bring the students in almost single file. They don't let them in early enough, and make them wait in a line. If I wasnt with the band I probably wouldnt even show up until kickoff anyway just because I would spend that time waiting rather than tailgating.
