i can in no way explain the "husker recap" and the fact that zimmer is the play by play guy. its as odd to me as it is to you.

I was there and had forgotten a few things-

forgot that CU kicked a 57 yd FG
forgot about all those fumbles

That was awesome. Can't wait until we have that kind of turnaround game again.

Was there a Cheat Blakeman sighting in there, or did I imagine that?

A very helpful reminder that ONE GAME can change a program. You need to be ready to take that chance when you get it like CU did on this day, as Stanford did @ USC in 2007.

Still my favorite game of all time.

For those too young to remember - the game wasn't televised - why televise a game between the undefeated (and 3rd-ranked) Cornhuskers against a 2-4 Buff team which hadn't defeated Nebraska in 17 years?

But there was so much clamour for the tape of the game, that CU patched together game tape and the KOA telecast ... best $7.50 I ever spent!

It was televised on AFN. I watched it in my barracks room in Germany.

That game was the absolute highlight of my college experience. We "tore" down the goal post and carried the pieces to the hill. I will never forget watching three guys hanging from the post before it toppled, and seeing them land flat on their backs with the post on top of them. Could not believe they got up.....

The crowd noise from Jeff Campbell's TD was the loudest I have heard at Folsom.

Good stuff. Too bad Oliver's knees went to hell on him. Had almost forgotten just how slippery Campbell was in the open field.
