In The End Will This Season Rank With Worst Of Them?

The way this season is going it could rank to be as poor as they come in terms of wins and loses.

1890: 0-4 (no coach) (first year of Colorado football and the only 0 win season on the books)
1980: 1-10 (Fairbanks) Enough said.......the dark ages.
1984: 1-10 (McCartney) The beginning of something special for Colorado Football.
2006: 2-10 (Hawkins) Not much to say......to much zen I guess.
2011: 1-6 so far and the schedule isn't an easy one the rest of the way.

What do you see for the future of Colorado football under the Embree regime?
It's been a rough start to say the least.

Only potential wins left on the schedule are Arizona. I'd like to think USC, because its at home, and ucla since they suck, but that's on the road. Depending on how Arizona rallies around their new coach and depending on how how depth looks at that point we have a chance to win another. Ugly. Hopefully it's the start of something and the season will officially be lost at halftime this upcoming week when we are down by 28+ and no shot of even potentially going to another bowl game.

As bad as this year is it doesn't come close to 1980. That season we still had Fairbanks in charge and no hope for the future.

The Mac year was bad but at least with Mac his personality gave you something to believe in, you knew he was working to make it better.

The Hawk year was full of (what we now know was false) hope based on his history at Boise and his upbeat face in the media.

The 1890 year I don't know about, you will have to ask DBT about that one.

This year is frustrating but Embree and Co. are working hard, they just don't have the talent to work with. Even as bad as we are we have some things we can look at for the future that indicate we are getting better.

I have no idea what the Fairbanks era was like in person.

My hope is it will be like the 84 season, a springboard for something truly special.

My fear is that it will be like the 06 season, a horrible nexus of issues that sets the program back for nearly a decade.

My logic says it will be somewhere in the middle.

This won't rank with the worst of them, not even close. This is pretty close to expected from most outside the progtam, especially given our almost comical injury situation. I actually think the seasons that hurt more are then ones that have meaning. I'll name a couple:

1. 1994-That was the best team in the country hands down with NFL talent. Colorado disappointed big time by not winning it all.
2. 2005-Started 7-2 with very respectable road losses, then came ISU, Nebraska and Texas. Also caused the hiring of Dan Hawkins.

One other thing, surveyor. I will neg rep your ass every chance I get.

This thread was starting out with some great discussion. DB took it the wrong direction.

Am I a Husker fan? Yes, I am.

Am I a Buff fan too? Yes, I am.

Does that screw with some on this board? Evidently so!

Now back to the thread topic.

No way you can be a buff and a Husker fan. Once again....go **** yourself.

When Halk was the HC, the ****ing Rammies and Huskers at my office would give me **** 24/7, but as soon as Embree was hired they shut up.

They knew DII was POS and I think they know it will just be a matter of time before a real head coach turns this thing around.

I'll be patient and give Embree and Bieniemy some time to bring in their own players. If we still suck, I will be pissed that I drank the Kool-Aid once again.

Now let's try this one more time. What say you?

I should cut and paste surveyor's PMs to me. Yikes. These DBs are even worse than I thought.

Okay, AllBuffs. You've got yourself a deal. I'll shave off the soup strainer if you give the sailor talk the ol' heave-ho. Okay?

I think you're blind to your own trolling. Why would we want to debate what our worst year was? Only a troll would want to discuss it. You're no buff fan.
