did anyone else see Ringo's tweet about Polk being injured as well (fractured sternum, bad wrist, concussion)?? and who do we play if he can't go? Sandersfeld is questionable... Espinoza (although not great, is a body) is doubtful with a concussion, Lockridge (again, a body) is a no go.

Who is left before we have to burn more redshirts and more true freshman? Terrel Smith..... Moten...... and? Bueller? Bueller?

Everyone said that Creer was burning his redshirt. No one said it was to play RB...

from what I heard/read from Embree, it sounded like Creer would only be needed if T.Jones or Ford goes down... I suppose if we are out of DB's, then we have to put 11 people out there, might as well get some fast people out there....

If the Galick football he plays is what I thought I saw he is tougher than some of the guys that Hawkins played on defense over the past few years, those guys leave a lot of blood on the field.

actually espy hasnt been that bad all things considered.

Espy as usual has given it everything he has.

It isn't an insult to say that he is both short and small in stature and lacks both straight line speed and quickness to play at this level. By all measures he is a division 2 athlete.

That said he has been a guy who has given absolutely everything he has to do whatever he can to help the team. He has been willing to step in at a variety of positions whenever needed and has done it with a great attitude.

The sad thing is that Hawkins recruiting and retention of players was so poor that a guy like Espy became a key player instead of a guy who contributes in practice hoping to get some time in mop up duty.

I also watched Lockridge fairly closely in the Wash State game. He actually looked like a guy who had he been moved to corner earlier in his career could have been a real contributor at the position. He lacks height but that isn't unknown in corners. He was lost on some assignments but you could tell that his athletic ability was a good match for the position. We will never know but I think he could have been a solid starting quality CB given some time to work at it instead of a guy buried at RB.

Screw Rudy. That's what Greeley is for.

I agree with you but I don't blame Espy. I thank him for his effort.

It's just disgusting that we got the the point that guys like Espy, Ebner, Jaffee,Manke, etc. were/are being relied on for playing time while the game is still in contention.

You will find guys like Espy on every team in the country. They walk-on, make the scout team better, and hope to get a few plays when the coaches are no longer worried about the outcome of a game.

There is no excuse however for a program like CU to be counting on D2 level athletes to start and contribute in real games.

Just shows how bad it got under Hawkins.

Agree. We aren't running a charity for wannabe D-1 football players.
