Give us hope for the future along with p-rich. Find an OL and coach them to BLOCK and hirschman will do well.

The defense has a ton of work to do both recruiting, scheme, effort and talent wise.

Oregon has the depth that CU will have withing year 4-5.

Hirschman has a pretty good arm. Throws a nice long ball if our guys can hold on.

I think Hirschman did an ok job given the line he is dealing with. But I think the kids throwing motion is way too long for D1 college ball. Even on short passes he looks like he is preping to throw 50 yards. He is gonna get destroyed if he doesn't get rid of the ball faster. Especially with this line. He is an ok back up or 3rd string guy but we def need more talent in here. I am excited to see Woods next year. But I do agree that Creer , Prich, canty are looking decent. Hopefully unlike during the Hawk era players will actually get better and more fundamentally sound during their time in Boulder instead of regressing

Hirsh needs the reps, and it's good to see him in there...... makes me despise hawkins even more if that's possible over the way he treated Hansen. This should be Hansen's third full year, or he should be a redshirt Jr. That scum jerked him in and out of the game to try to give his little boy records, etc. DiStiffano, Benson, or whoever is responsible for keeping that horrible person around for two years longer than he should have been here has caused an additional 4-5 years of garbage football and made retooling an infinitely tougher job for the current staff.

BURNED TO THE GROUND, indeed. We're lucky to have a great staff that really knows how to recruit.

we played more frosh than seniors this game. Wow. Glad to see a coach who realizes the score and doesn't try and get garbage points.

At the very worst we know that Hirsch can go out on the field and run the offense. Wood has already used his RS year but if he comes in next year and takes the job then having a competent backup like Hirsch can give us the luxury of letting Dillon redshirt instead of losing a year.

We just don't have the talent this year (we barely have the bodies much less talent) to redshirt guys but developing talent and depth at QB is a good start toward rebuilding the team.

Canty and McColloch along with PRich may help us do the same at WR. Tony Jones and now Creer are a good start at RB.

We are terrible this year and can be better next year and still lose a bunch but at least we can see light at the end of the tunnel, and it isn't a train coming our way.

Hirsch looked really good IMO. He isn't as athletic as Tyler, but he makes better reads. I was surprised watching him make a pass where a guy wasn't open when he threw it, but the play developed while the ball was in the air into a situation where the ball was hitting the receiver at the exact moment that it should. Mostly our WRs dropped those - but he looked A LOT better than he did in Spring ball, and he might be a legit competitor come next year. Really please with his place.

Creer looked pretty awesome also. DD Goodson was in at CB, but I guess he got hurt also.

I thought Jones looked pretty good in the backfield. A lot like Rodney, but would dance less.

The OLine was comfortable with Hirch. The snap got to him without anyone being off sides. Sometimes the new QB's cadence messes with the line.

I'm not a big believer in Hirschman. But I want to give him the opportunity to win me over. I say to give him starter's reps the rest of the season. We're not going to a bowl game and we need to prepare for 2012. That means that going into the spring we need Hirschman to give Wood the best battle he possibly can for the starting QB spot. That will make them both better and give us a better insurance policy against injury.

Regarding Hansen, he's a good Buff who isn't the reason for the problems this year. But he also wasn't able to keep the offense in sync and out of penalties this year, audible to big plays, or consistently go through his progression reads. If he's not going to run the show like a seasoned vet senior (which would give the rest of the young guys on O a stabilizing influence that would help them develop), then I can't think of a good reason to play him.

Given the rate of injury suffered at the skilled position, CU is going to need both Hansen and Hirschman to escape the 2011 season.

I'm okay with whatever choice Embree makes at this point.

Hansen should still get the bulk of the work going forward. Hirschman is on the right path, don't want to rush him.

When we get to the point that CU is starting the kind of talent UO has as depth, we won't be in bad shape. When we get to the point that we have those guys as depth, I will be one seriously happy buff fan...

Better open your wallet because we'll have to buy our players like Oregon does.

Of all the frosh Greer impresses me the most. Tuumalo reminds me of Perkins his frosh year... so many missed tackles

He strangely wasn't targeted by Oregon QB much. Maybe thats because all of our corners suck, but I liked what I saw. He might have a future at corner, we shall see. No reason not to play him now you have burned his red shirt.

Hawkins was terrible, I don't think I saw him on the field after the penalty.

Gotta start Hirschman the rest of the way. I think Wood will be the guy next year, but I don't want to have no QB's on the roster with any real experience. Hirschman has a nice arm and stands tall in the pocket, he's just slow as all hell including his release, but I think there's more upside with him than Hansen

I think a lot of CU fans are falling into the "he is playing as a true freshman/redshirt freshman, he must be good" trap.

yup. Straight desperation is putting guys in the game, especially on D.

I'm trying to find the positives (what else can I do?) right now. I see a good amount of decent players amongst the youngsters, but no one I would consider game-changing. We also look small out there.

The lack of production at TE and the lack of a true feature back are issues that need to be addressed sooner rather than later.

I agree. But, to be fair Jalil, Jimmy, Solder, McKnight etc wouldn't have looked that great right now either. It's on the staff to develop these players
