what is the worst record CU has ever had for football?

CU was 1-10 under fairbanks in 1980 and 1-10 under Mac in 1984

If I remember correctly that one win in 84 almost didn't happen. Iowa State missed a real short FG
last play of the game.

Via ESPN College Football Encyclopedia
1890: 0-4 and a handful of 1 win seasons spanning about every era

2011-12 and if you meant personal record it would have to be this loooonngg road losing streak

1890 was pretty bad. We went defeated and were out scored 217 to 4.

at Denver Athletic Club L 0- 20
COLORADO MINES L 0-103
at Colorado Springs A.A. L 0- 44
COLORADO MINES L 4- 50

Who the **** is the Denver Athletic Club and why did we lose by 20? So according to the above post, props to Darian btw, Mines beat us twice and 153-4, Jesus thats umm pitiful.

Think they on Buff Chips Radio said CU had never lost more than 10 in a season.

We shouldnt lose 10 in any season and I dont give a damn who we are wheelchairing out there. Jesus Christ I wish CU was what they were when I tried to go there, full court press on them and nothing. They were top 10 damn near every year then tho so it makes me feel better. My grandma could probably start now, this is so ****ing sad its sickening.

yeah, it really depends on what you mean by "worst". because CU has a 13 game schedule this year, it has the potential to set a school record for losses in a single season (12). but, there are several seasons in which the Buffs have only won 1 game in total.

the "Ofer" seasons were all long ago, before the modern age of football and are not really all that relevant.

hooray us!

The DAC was loaded in '90! You can see marked improvement from the first Mines game to the second. We quadrupled our Offensive output for the entire season in that one game and our D cut Mines' total by nearly 50% over the first game!

I started a thread on Oct. 16th regarding the worst season records in Buff history and here is what I found in the record books at that time. I have updated the current season record to date.

"Here are the worst seasons (to date) for Colorado Football:

1890: 0-4 (no coach) (first year of Colorado football and the only 0 win season on the books)
1980: 1-10 (Fairbanks) Enough said.......the dark ages.
1984: 1-10 (McCartney) The beginning of something special for Colorado Football.
2006: 2-10 (Hawkins) Not much to say......to much zen I guess.
2011: 1-8 so far and the schedule isn't an easy one the rest of the way."

Those are the facts and I don't know how the rest of the season is going to turn out, but it looks to be a tough ending.

Hopefully Embree can get the ship righted and headed in a positive direction by the spring game.
