What I saw last night...it was not all bad.

Gary Barnett use to say "the will lead themselves much farther then you can ever lead them." I believe I saw that starting last nite for the first time in several years. This team came out and played with purpose and determination. Against Oregon this team never believed that could compete. Last night they never quit believing in themselves. If they can carry that over for the rest of the season they can possibly win a couple of games. If the culture can be changed during this season it will put the Buffs farther along in their journey for a turn around.

USC probably has more guys that will be playing on Sunday than any other team in the PAC-12. CU was definitely over-matched in the talent category but they came out and were not intimidated. They played hard and they made some good things happen. Clemons had a stellar game. Everyone who knocks Hansen has no idea of what they are talking about - he stood his ground in the pocket and got rid of the ball when the pressure was there. Yes he missed some passes but I saw Barkley miss some also. The Oline had there best game in a long time.

The Trojan Oline towered above our Dline and demonstrated that CU has a ways to go in that area.

This is the first time I have been excited about the future in a long time. I am not saying the program is turned around and all of a sudden the team is going to be great, but I am saying if they can demonstrate that last night was not a fluke then this program is heading in the right direct - this team is starting to believe in themselves.

I know that others must of seen it also because this morning Mark Kizla started his smear campaign against Jon Embree - one thing that Kizla hates above all else is CU football because he knows that one thing he can do that will keep his job is to criticize things. So about a year early he must of gotten scared of what he saw last night and knows that CU could be turning around of he does not want that to happen. Kizla needs your support to keep knocking the CU coaches and keep the program down. You can decide if you want to help him in his mission.

I for one will be looking for CU to build on the intangibles that I believe I saw in the USC game.
 
the boys played hard last night and showed a lot of fight. We have had a lot of bad losses this season, where it seems everyone quit, but that definitely didn't happen yesterday.

I saw the same thing and was trying to figure out how to say it but you did it spot on. I am not happy with the loss but I am very happy with the attitude and tenacity I saw the buffs play with last night.
 
I agree actually. We're starting to see the physical play that Embree preaches.

Hopefully Kiz and a few others will soon get wrapped up in the sports betting ring that sent Jim Armstrong packing.

Kiszla has written how many articles on CU Football this year?
 
Embree's boys will get there in another 2 years, and after that I hope he can return the beatings we've had to endure this season. Especially to Lame Kiffin.
 
Hopefully this is the case, and not that USC simply isn't as good as Oregon and Stanford + we faced them in a night game at home. We definitely did seem to come out and show some glimpses of physical play. This team could make this brutal season a hell of a lot brighter if they won 1 or 2 of these last few games, or dare I even suggest -- win a road game.
 
The guys did play physical, which was nice. The intensity in the stadium is getting better.

BTW, Major did have a nice game, though everyone got to see that his favorite song is sung by James Taylor.................fml

Why does it matter what his favorite song is?
 
There was an upside in that the boys played hard all 60 minutes.

The downside was that $C probably could have limited their playbook to fade patterns and still won by 25. Oof.
 
Props to the stadium media crew last night. They had the place hopping with the band being active and pumping high energy tunes to keep people jumping around and dancing. I thought, minus the eventual results, that it was a really fun atmosphere.
 
looking forward to our D with Orms back. Having 2 real CBs as well as sandersfeld means 3 WR sets no longer determine what kind of defense we can play. The return of the zone coverag!
 
I thought they played hard and competed all night,way too much talent for USC. I didn't think hansen or the OL played very well. I have some hope for the future but to say kissy poo kiszla is scared after what he saw last night?
 
BNG, you called it. I think we will look back on the loss to SC on Friday night and mark it as the turn around game for the the buffs. We will say things like "even though we lost, you could see in the way the buffs played in that game that the heart and soul of buffalo football was being re-born". The way we played today against the wildcats, the way we won against them, proved that the heart and spirit shown against SC was no fluke. We will need more/better talent before we are winning the way we used to, but there's no doubt about it that our buffs are back!!!
 
Yep, the physicality was there again this week. Still a long, long way to go, but loved what I saw at Folsom today
 
gotta hope Orms is ready to play next week. The difference he makes to our D is ridiculous. Brown is so much more limited with him out.
 
The Buffs continued yesterday what I say against USC. You can tell it is like a switch went on - the attitude they come out with is totally different than early in the season. Kudos to the coaching staff for getting the players to buy in this quickly (yes it is quick to see cultural changes in the first year).

Not only did Miller look like he was going to break the guy in half, he had a perfect technique for pass protection. Lock him up inside the shoulders, inside the pads. Yes its a hold but it will never be called because of the location of his hands
