Army laying it on AFA in the Springs.

AFA turning the ball over, can't get a rythum to their offense and giving up big chunks of yardage to Army.

Finally get something positive stopping Army on a goal line stand but Army 14-0 with AFA ball inside their own 1 pending review.

Took Army +16.5 that was a smart pick. /csb

AFA down 14 at half could have been way worse. Stopped Army inches away on 4th down then Army fumbled the ball on the way into the end zone on the following possetion. Could very easily be 28-0.

Looked like AF had it read even if they hadn't fumbled. Dumb play at the time.

1st and goal at the 1. This could be goodnight Army

AFA 20-Army 14.

AFA ball again after a forced fumble.

Sounding all day like the announcers are almost an Army broadcast crew, not even hiding their desire for Army to win. Probably because they want the Army-Navy game to mean something. Air Force wins and the CIC trophy stays in CS.

The same crew (Spero Dedos and Steve Beuerlein) did the AFA/Navy game and were creaming themselves rooting for Navy to win. Like a lot of people, they probably think of service academy football being the Army/Navy game.

Then again, Beuerlein called CSU AFA's "cross town rival - from Colorado Springs to, um, Colorado State" so who really knows what (or if) he's thinking...

I heard that, made me snort with disdain.

Interesting to think about the "rival" comment with CSU. I work in the springs and have never heard an AFA fan refer to CSU as a rival in any greater sense than any other regular MWC opponent like NM or UNLV.

The players and the Air Force people care about Navy and Army. They also get excited in the years they get to play Notre Dame. CSU doesn't really figure in the mix. CSU pays more attention to AFA primarily because AFA has beaten CSU often recently and in some cases in a frustrating manner. Even there for the majority of CSU fans their season begins and ends with CU, the ones who actually follow past the CU game focus on Wyo. They also used to get worked up a bit over BYU.

Rivals, not quite

Was a great game. I live on the north border of AFA. My dad was 27 years army. I got him tix and had to stay quiet the first half and give him respectful crap through the whole second.
