i thought i would take a brief moment to be somewhat, halfway, optimistic, about next season.

while i think the team will still have light years to go before it is actually competitive again, i think we can hope for a bowl game without sipping too much kool-aid. 3 super easy ooc games could get us halfway there. and a more favorable conf. schedule... maybe, just maybe... i'd take 6 wins and a bowl game next year in a heartbeat.

Wait, we're talking about the 2012 postseason now?

I'm just hoping we don't lose to another Big Sky team.

We go out in style, winning 2 of the next 3... maybe even 3 out of the next 3.... book it

Yes 2012 and there's no way we lose to another FCS team. We have a great chance to start 3-0 next year and finish on a high note this year.

is that spiked kool-aid you drink'n? I am NOT getting hyped up before seasons anymore - the Buffs have a long, long ways to go... I have been kicked in the nuts way to many times the last 5-6 years... no more hype, I am in the show me first mode at this point. Prove me wrong BUFFS!!

Oblivion? Didn´t that come out several years ago? Skyrim arrives this week!

You just put Embrees Buffs on the same path as Hawk's. Year 1 get anhilated. Check. Year 2, go 6-6 and go to a bowl. Check.

My guess as to what next years final standings will be

North
1. Oregon
2. Washington
3. Cal
4. Stanford
5. Oregon St.
6. Washington St.

South
1. USC
2. Arizona St.
3. Colorado
4. Utah
5. UCLA
6. Arizona

I need to see how we finish out this class in recruiting before I predict anywhere near six wins for next season.

It isn't a bad path but you have to continue to improve, not get worse. A bowl game is realistic IMO.

O-line and secondary are going to be key next year. I'm guessing we get a huge upgrade in the OL after no help Miller is gone

With who?!!?

Miller, who I admit has not been stellar, has been a multi-year starter on the offensive line (at multiple positions). Unless you think a true freshman is going to step in and dominate in his place, or a JUCO player is going to arrive to take his place, I think it is doubtful that there is someone on the squad right now who could step in and replace him at the same level. If such a person existed I am sure he would be playing already.

I don't know, but put my skinny ass in there and I wont sack our own QB I can tell you that much. I would be a huge upgrade at good ol 5'11 160

LOL...

I really hope there IS someone better out there, or that the "light goes on" for one of the players currently on the team and the OL is much improved next year. But I always have a hard time believing, in college football, that the best players are sitting on the bench. Miller was a starter for a reason. He might not be the greatest player in game time, but the fact that he's been a starter for years and years shows me that he is the best player CU HAS! There is no conspiracy keeping the best offensive linemen on the bench.

Sounds about right and with Oregon's very easy OOC schedule a lot of Duck fans are looking forward to having a chance at another NC run. Oregon and Washington should be the front runners of the North although the bottom 4 are harder to predict. I have no idea what will happen in the South although since USC will be eligible I expect they will represent the Southern division in the Conference Championship Game.

true, I guess I am just tired of 4 and 5 stars not living up to expectations for us. Ryan is a good guy, I just thought he would dominate more.

I might bump the Beavers up a spot or two as well. They seem to be up and down with Riley, so next year should be better for them.

I also think USC will be nasty and play with a chip on their shoulder. They might even be tough for Oregon to beat.

Stop. That's just absurd. Miller hasn't lived up to the hype, that's for certain. The Col is right, though. He's been a starter on the line for 5 years. You'd be abused and you know it. I don't know who we have to step into his spot, but if it is you, we're in big trouble.

Well I am not sure what to think of the Beavers. This is the first time I remember Mike Riley coming under fire from his own fan base during the season. I have also heard a lot of OS fans saying that this team is young although I hate that excuse because most college football teams are young at some positions. They have a lot of work ahead of them this off season if they want to be competitive again in the North.

Do you really think I'm serious? jeez
