Woah, he went from no offers to a lot of offers. Haven't even watched his videos yet. Looks like it could be a pretty nice year in Hawaii for prospects. Twin towers, this guy and Shane Brostek all look legit and best part, we have a shot at them all.

edit: Watched his videos, he looks pretty good. He is rail thin for a DT, though. Got to love the idea of him adding 40 or 50 pounds and maintaining that quickness.

I don't think he's ever going to play the nose for us, but playing 3-4 DE is essentially playing DT. He'll be fine, we recruit OL that weigh in the 250 range all of the time with the intention of getting them up to the 290-300 range.

St. Louis HS, Punahou and Kamehameha are definitely the pipelines we want running into HI. We've done well with the first two bit the Warriors remain elusive. This would be a good get for strategic reasons in recruiting along with attaining a kid who's best football is in front of him.

Still don't understand all this talk about our 3-4. We are almost never in it. We lined up in a 4-2 front nickel all day on Saturday....

he visited this weekend too. i feel like 255 is a lil small for DT

I came in at around 260-265 at 6'6". I left at 305. Give the dude a year of a college weight program and nutrition. If he has the nasty taken care of he can build the rest.

Remind me to never talk smack to Wyo Buff.

You're right and it's another reason why I'm not a huge fan of hauling in someone like Zaheer Webb. This guy would be fine lining up in a 4-2-5 and rushing the passer... Webb not so much.

Can you still ride roller coasters?

Have you ever been able to except at Legoland and Sesame Place? :smile2:

Back on topic.

I really like Kory. All the reports from camps were that he played with a mean streak and great leverage. He'll mix it up inside for us and be disruptive. We need about a dozen of those guys. Can't wait to get a detailed visit report.

This is right. In my opinion the NASTY factor is underweighted. I am sure Embo and EB would agree whole heartedly because each of them has the NASTY!

Good visit. Plans to commit somewhere ahead of signing day. We need to watch out for Utah here since they're recruiting him as hard as we are.

Scout update

Gotta think with his height that he could quite easily morph into a 3/4 DE after a year or 2. After looking at the vids, I'm thinking he is a prime RS candidate. Runs pretty well and has a big frame to add weight. Wonder if we are looking at a possible OL down the line?

With the DL numbers we are taking this year we can afford to have several of them expected to be red shirters and not need to contribute for a year or two until they are ready.

In fact, especially with next year's class being so small, I believe that has to be the plan. If we are still in on DL, that means we may be taking EIGHT. If we don't switch to a 3/4 with some of them being OLB's in the future, that means that at least 2-3 have to Redshirt in order to balance out the classes. You can't have 8 DL graduate in one year!

You think we are going to continue to take DLineman?
TOTALLY possible.
