No I think he added media rights and media rights with revenue.

That would likely be an ironclad GOR. I think they usually ask for a lifetime commitment.

Sir I will have you know I talked them into those upgraded floor liners. They quickly learned it was not my first rodeo.

CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

It is a tough position no doubt. Years of mismanagement that ultimately lost you the LA market and at a time when corporations are trimming spending. Not a good series of events. Fox is all in on the BIG and ESPN is SEC. I think we all know where this is going and CU needs to position...

It isn’t a thing outside of Twitter. You could ask to renegotiate but ask the ACC how well that would go.

That and if my memory is correct (might not be) the ESPN escalator for P5 additions is 20M per school. So either UW/UO take 20 or all Big 12 teams take less. Neither is happening.

Well then they could go to the Big 12 or go independent. Which is why they would sign.

If ESPN rumored offer was in the 20’s and the podcast said Apple is 10M more, that is in the 30’s for the teams. Oregon and Washington would be signing.

Big 12 teams are locked into their deal. I know this thread is basically for speculation and some fun but we need to stop with the Big 12/PAC merger, or corners leaving, or whatever talk. There is no scenario in which these two leagues combine in any way. This fairytale only exists on Twitter.

In that scenario you go with Apple. Let ESPN fill their late night slot with Fresno State.

Yes I believe his overall point was that CU has benefited from its relationship to the schools that makeup the PAC. And that benefit outweighs any gain by jumping conferences. Except for the BIG or SEC where the dollars may actually sway opinion. A million or two between the PAC and Big 12...

Do you have a citation to those TX numbers? Not saying you are wrong but it would be interesting to see that growth over time as a percentage vs his PAC and Big 12 chart.

We will know in a couple weeks. My guess is the model holds. If by model we go by academic. My final call is PAC +2 sign a deal slightly north of the Big 12. If I am wrong I will fully admit it and will fully embrace Manhattan Kansas again while hoping for an eventual BIG invite.

Except that he uses data to draw conclusions. A flat earther is not using data. They are just observing. Are you sure you are a professor? Snark I know but it has been fun. I will revisit this thread when the PAC has firmly stepped over the Big 12.

I mean….his data supports his own argument. Does it not? If someone disagrees it would be up to them to present data that would refute it. So far no one has presented that data. They have just said they disagree. Disagreeing is opinion unless supported.

Then refute it. What are the other variables? What are the relevant data points? What are the conclusions that should be drawn? You are not getting a grant with that half ass rebuttal ;)

agree. I think his data is interesting but not definitive. There is probably some association but how much? Who knows. However, when data 100% points in one direction it is compelling. In the end being a flag ship university seems to matter. Almost all flagships have fled the Big 12. They are...

Actually if you go listen to their podcast, which I posted, they go over the relationship between CU going to the PAC and their RD. Again, not my conclusion. Relaying information.
