  1. Another long offseason...

yeah, you're correct. But it was a bit of hype, too. I don't think there were more than a thousand fans wearing blue that day.
  2. Another long offseason...

I guess "supposed" because of all the hub-bub and the fact that nothing really came of it. Am I wrong?
  3. Optimistic

I drank the koolaid last summer, and I woke up with a huuuuge hangover this fall. I won't drink anything else until the Buffs saddle up, win something worthwhile and pop open champagne to celebrate...
  4. Another long offseason...

Our season is over, quick as it went by and as depressing as it may be. From the early season losses to CSU and Toledo, to the heart breakers and hope that were UT, OSU and Nebraska, 2009 was a tough one to take. I won't soon forget about the supposed "blue out", the transfers of DS (our savior)...
  5. Cu history

Nice post and a great overview! I think Hawkins' tenure should be classified as "struggling", however, during his first and latest season.
  6. The Little Things

Agreed on all fronts. Seems our coaching staff has as much (if not more) growing up to do as the team that they coach. The little things that are mentioned "as needing fixing" led to own very ugly season this go around. I hope both the team and the coaches are able to figure it out this...
  7. Wear black, not blue!

Yeah, but those are objective arguments, which are easily laid to rest if the Buffs start winning. If we where blue, however, he can still always point out, "yeah, but their fans are a bunch of *****holes.
  8. Wear black, not blue!

I know. And I can understand why people think I am getting worked up over something that isn't actually that big a deal, while at the same time they are trying trying to make it a big deal, thus the whole "let's support the powder blue protest". It just leaves a bad taste. And bad taste lingers...
  9. Wear black, not blue!

Because we are focusing the spotlight on ourselves, as fans, above the team that we root for. We place a heavy burden on our players by pointing out their poor play in such a unique manner, regardless of whether the coaches are to blame or not. Opposing coaches might very well point out that CU...
  10. Wear black, not blue!

I hope so. And I sure hope it isn't used against us. I've watched a lot of sports all over the world, and I've never heard of such a protest before; a protest where fans abandon colors (especially in a sport where the passions and interests run as high as in college football). Put a blue jersey...
  11. Wear black, not blue!

I agree. The frustration is great for all of us. And the higher ups apparently (I hope) know it. At least judging from media reports over the last few days. I just don't understand why we have to rub the fact in by mocking our our team by wearing ugly colors from yesteryear.
  12. Wear black, not blue!

Ok. I get your point. How long ago was it that Fairbanks coached, though?
  13. Wear black, not blue!

No. I'm worried about a kid who is choosing between CU and OSU, for example. And I'm worried about the fact that an opposing coach is going to use our blue gimmick against us. It's one thing for a few fans to show up with bags over their heads. It's another thing for an entire crowd to show up...
  14. Wear black, not blue!

20 seconds on sportscenter that might last a lifetime... Why would you put blue on to risk it?
  15. Wear black, not blue!

By the way, no hard feelings.
  16. Wear black, not blue!

    Just wanted to make sure.
  17. Wear black, not blue!

Wrong! Who the hell is going to watch CU play A&M outside of College Station and Boulder this weekend? What people will see is a highlight on ESPN where the announcer makes light of the fact that CU fans are wearing blue in some sort of protest. No one will get the true point. Our opponents...
  18. Wear black, not blue!

Not a person outside of the CU program knows who Fairbanks is. Do you actually think people watching on national tv are going to get the true point? What they very well might see is a bunch of people protesting their team by making a laughing stock out of themsleves... *****es was two ** too...
  19. Wear black, not blue!

Very well. A little color might very well lead to a lot of national media attention. And we might just be the worse off because of it. Go ahead, put your blue outfits on. I for one will wear black.
  20. Wear black, not blue!

I might agree with all your points, but showing up in blue is a dangerous game because we don't know the long term consequences, especially if things do not turn around quickly. What are we going to do if the Buffs lose next year even if Hawkins is gone. Continue wearing blue? Look, I think...
