  1. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Depending on the contracts it could be something the existing schools won't agree to whether too much streaming or scheduling/travel issues. TBD
  2. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

SicEm365 Article goes deep on what CU adds to the B12, takes from the P12, whether UO/UW makes sense financially for the B1G, and the FSU rumors.
  3. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Big 12 has an exit fee that's 99 years. The GOR however is a separate issue and tied to the media deal.
  4. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

League distributions jump from under 40M to at least 44 if not 50M. TV getting an average of 31.7M starting in 2025 is a part of it.
  5. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Fixed rivals and rotate the rest seems to be what leagues are going to.
  6. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

1- With title games not needing divisions... they aren't needed. 2- Big 12 will be VERY against adding Cal. Iffy programs, bad ratings in spite of getting USC, UCLA, Oregon, UW, and Stanford every single year. Also the influence of the California legislature during COVID costing everyone...
  7. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

I don't see ESPN paying up more than if they moved the ones they want to the Big 12 (splitting the cost with FOX) and slashed the rest's pay if they need to buy inventory at all. In addition moving to the ACC would require ESPN acting alone to make ALL of them paid more in the ACC and pay the...

Getting more money for a couple extra years from the playoff than the entire G5 does combined plus NCAA credits is a war chest that will make even a 2 team PAC able to backfill. It will diminish in that scenario but it's picking who it wants of the G5 to get to 9-12 teams.
  9. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Without you guys I don't see how. Last round FOX & ESPN needed content and the Big 12 was very strong in both sports. This time you'd be talking a weaker PAC with the most valuable time slots for ad rates being mostly locked up. CU departing also diminishes upside for both a streaming...

What it is.... is hilarious bollywood time capsule gold
  11. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

It's the specific amounts mentioned in the blurb at the bottom. I think at least part of Comcast was included in the most recent year. It also doesn't include the Big 12 tier 3 revenue schools sell independently. Given the lost revenue here, CU has every reason to wait this out and get hard...
  12. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

The point of the tweet isn't "see how much better Big 12 payouts will be!" The point of the tweet is: "CU will likely wait for reliable numbers from the PAC. Not doing so with the Big 12 cost them at least 67M last time." That 67M is conservative and doesn't include the revenue CU would get...
  13. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

The answer to that is likely the same as the similar question you asked prior to this deal- YES, they'll get a solid deal. ESPN & FOX weren't a charity here. They saw content that met their needs at a price they wanted.
  14. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

The tweet answers the question. Burned once by moving fast, might see what is on offer.
  15. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

The issue here is: (A) The Pac 12 doesn't have FOX leaning on cable providers (B) The DFW market doesn't have tons and tons of PAC alumni to the degree NY/NJ has Big Ten alums willing to switch providers leaning on cable providers (C) Rutgers has more fans leaning on providers in their markets...
  16. CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Having FOX and an army of local Big Ten alumni all leaning on cable providers made that happen. It's been lucrative for the Big Ten Network angle but they had to add very little to the NBC/CBS/FOX contracts.
