  1. The Cal Game on Saturday

That is a nice post by Flukes. There are several things I would add for visitors For Food: The best pizza is Zachary's (chicago style). By rockridge Bart. (but not as good as Patxi's ny style in SF) Best vietnamese, Le Petit Cheval Best Thai, Cha Am (north of campus 2 miles) For quick food...
  2. Stepping Stone

As Boyle said, everyone is hurting right now. The officiating was disgusting, and those refs should lose their jobs for not protecting the players and/or being corrupt--how else to explain Scott being the only one to receive a foul on that play or Dinwiddie being slashed in the face with a full...
  3. Interview w/ HC Mike Mac

My bad, I thought this weeks interview was posted. But it was last weeks http://milehighsports.com/radio/weekend-shows/buffalo-chips-radio/ (you have to select Radio in the top most column of the site to get a list of shows)
  4. Is Gerald Thomas transferring? (Updated: No, he is not.)

Let's examine what you mean. Your argument is that you don't want to discuss the likelihood that GT is going to transfer, and don't want to discuss his prospects BECAUSE you are afraid you are going to give him ideas that he hasn't thought of? Such a high regard you have for our fellow...
  5. CU not granting transfer requests until after spring ball - Discuss!

This is a digression, but I feel some responsibility to redress misleading info. I appreciate your concern about the debt and the role of Defense spending, MiamiBuff, but your numbers don't seem to be accurate representations of the issues. I think by debt you mean deficit. Your numbers seem to...
  6. CU not granting transfer requests until after spring ball - Discuss!

There have been numerous lawsuits but they have been thrown out because judges have been unwilling to go beyond the veneer of the law. (The suitors were never granted standing) The NCAA is ostensibly a non-profit organization, but the reason for its (continued) existence is to allow vested...
  7. CU not granting transfer requests until after spring ball - Discuss!

I think it is reasonable to ask the players to wait a few a months and make an informed decision. Hopefully, this wasn't stated as a threat. And I don't think it is morally defensible to prevent a player from transferring if that is what they wish. The quoted statement above, however...
  8. '13 CO ATH Phillip Lindsay (Signed to Colorado)

That is a really good point. Don't get me wrong. I think he is an upstanding young man, and has lots of talent and potential. Abron runs a 4.4 and doesn't look blazing out there. The pac 12 is getting faster as teams try to recruit to contain Oregon's 4.2 guys. We are going to need to keep up.
  9. '13 CO ATH Phillip Lindsay (Signed to Colorado)

ditto a third time. Even if he recovers and becomes a good rb, we sorely lack game-breaking speed. I think coach Myke needs to open recruitment at this position--but not as crucial as S, LB, DE. (and sorting out the WR recruits)
  10. Bench

I really don't think the crux of the problem is lack of spark off the bench. Yes, we don't have the talent and depth of most teams in the top 32. The biggest issue is our inability to execute offensively in the half-court. People are holding the ball too long and not passing enough, especially...
  11. '13 WA QB Sefo Liufau (Signed to Colorado)

Ya, agreed Buffup. here is highlight from his championship game. Checkout the drives he puts together at 7m and 11m mark. Fantastic ability to run to the left and throw on the move with great accuracy. Someone compared him to a young Kaepernick or Luck. That might well be the case...
  12. '13 CA RB Osirius Burke

He seems tough, but not fast. I don't think he would add anything we don't already have in Abron. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/136879/osirius-burke speed is listed at 4.65. This doesn't look like a laser time, based upon his highlights when he is...
  13. Darell Garettson

I agree that Sefo is not polished. I don't agree that he pulls the ball to run and is unwilling to stay in the pocket--just the opposite judging by his senior games. Keep in mind that his receivers and OL are weak. He is often getting 3 seconds to throw before multiple rushers get to him...
  14. Interview w/ HC Mike Mac

Here are some examples from several different directions: 1. In addition to your strengths, what do you feel are you greatest weaknesses as a coach? (I would bet he is going to say organizational details, but this question shows how well he knows himself and how willing he is to be emotionally...
  15. Coaching Staff

I support having a role player or two on the team. Our problem is that a disproportionate number of players on our team are role players. This is not to criticize any individual player, but the previous coaching staff has given away too many scholarships to role players. (Tyler made an amazing...
  16. How to solve the QB scholly overload

In his presser, he said that "we will figure out who the 22 starting guys are and who will be the backups (during tryouts)". I would infer that he plans on honoring current scholarships and then to conduct tryouts in the spring. I wonder if he is cognizant of how bad and imbalanced our numbers...
  17. Coaching Staff

Ya I'm concerned about Baer. This is a pretty scathing summary of his career: http://www.seattlesportsblog.com/archives/washington_huskies_football/
  18. he did a good job at the presser

I'm really impressed by Coach Mac, and I'm relieved that Bohn decided to start evaluating plans to turn the program around. Coach Mac has the same personality as Boyle (ENFP), and you can tell that he is smart, strategic, and forward-looking. He also has the kind of positive energy and broad...
  19. *Official Game Thread* - Buffs at KU

I don't think we beat Kansas this calender year, no matter the venue, including the moon. Kansas lacks a great point guard this year, which is unusual for them. That said they are athletic and tall at all positions. They were a tough match up for us. The emergence of the center Withey...
  20. Media Barbecues Jones

Lol. Or he would have been honestly honest and said "I'm somewhat interested assuming I'm not offered by Tennessee or Wisconsin, and not said a week ago, "I intend to be the coach at Cinci" This is like slick rick--being deceptive might get you ahead in the short term, but never in the long term.
